  1. Tanya Wilson (Condello)(Miss USA 1972)and her Mother were our neighbors in Tucson Az.for years. Her mother who was a single Mom back in the day worked two jobs to make sure that Tanya had lessons for dance of all kinds. All in preperation for what was to come.
I haven’t seen Tanya in many years. The last time was in about 1986 or so.She came to Tucson for her Mom’s funeral. She came by to see me at my job.

I have tried to contact her for years.Just to catch up.I hate to let friendships go away.
Tanya,If you read this please contact me at http://www.kokopellikruzers.com.We now live in the Phoenix area.520-331-1680.

  2. You are very lucky to have a Mom that was and still is MIss USA

  3. I was there with my mother Miss USA 1957, Miss Charlotte Sheffield. The pageant was wonderful to invite the past winners. They did the same thing in Chicago for the 50th but similar to this year it was a flash of them in the audience. This year they did make a video and took a photo shoot of each past winner which I think they will be posting on the Miss USA website soon. All the past winners are so amazing and wonderful. Not only are they beautiful on the outside but the inside as well. I thank this site for posting these photos. I was busy helping my mother who has some health issues and didn’t get as many photos as I would have liked and during this photo shoot I was holding most of the past winners purses.

  4. amazing gatherings of former miss usa, they had specially made sashes just to know, what year they won, i like it, hope they can do this on miss universe

  5. Kenya Moore…memories of a nasty crowd in Mexico City. One of the ‘lowlights’ of pageant history.

    • I agree with your comment, that was a very low momment for the history in Pageants, but trust me…Lupita Jones was so pissed off also…. even when they tried to crown Dayanara Torres up it was a completely mess….. OMG…..

  6. FINALLY!!!! A Miss USA year EPISODE, that they “BRING back” SOME of the former BEAUTY AMERICAN queens, I WISHED they did it for the fifty years episode, at least there are alot of the former queens back for a special apperance, i’m HOPING they do this for Miss Universe, and what would be MORE AWESOME is, if these “FORMER” USA/UNIVERSE queens became judges at the pageant itself, at LEAST they KNOW what to LOOK for in a SPECIAL GAL, because they CAN ALL say they been there, done that… I HOPE that is up for consideration in the FUTURE : )

  7. Gretchen Polhemus looks super fabulous! She has five kids. She was beautiful when she won Miss USA 1989 and looks even more amazing!

  8. deborah lebak bulus says:

  9. Miss USA 1993 Kenya Moore looks the same and is still beautiful. She is aging gracefully with her beautiful chocolate skin tone. LOVE HER. She looks better that Rima Fakih in that picture.

  15. this is amazing..wish they would have done that in the 2001 edition, but this looks very promising for Miss Universe 2011

  16. You’re right, JeffD, I would love to see those gals as well, especially my all time fave Miss USA, and first runner-up to Miss Universe, the great Amanda Jones.

  23. WOW… Gretchen Miss USA 1989 Looks amazing… beautiful.
ALL OF THEM WERE, ARE AND WILL BE BEAUTIFUL FOREVER…
IT WAS SO, BUT SO AMAZING TO SEE ALL OF THEM TOGETHER…
    BEAUTIFUL MOMENT

  24. Thanks so much for posting these fabulous pictures! One can only hope there will be a reunion of the Miss Universe titleholders in Brazil in September to mark the 60th anniversary there as well. It’s always great to see your favorites again and I’m sure the live audience on Sunday night will go wild when our Miss USAs are introduced.

  25. I wish I was there. Sylvia Hitchcock still very beautiful.

  26. I hope they will given a moment to shine on stage with distinction. Also is the Miss USa turn porn star, around?

    • Nope, Kelli was not around, she was so sweet when she won the Pageant, but her body was very voluptuous, that’s for sure.

  27. I am surprised and yet happy to see Wendy Dascomb. She didn’t enjoy her reign at Miss USA and even dissed the pageant in Ms. Magazine.

    • Terry C - NJ says:

Wendy was an unabashed feminist (good for her). I’ll never understand why she bothered to enter a beauty pageant.

  28. Nice to see Sylvia Hitchcock, even though she is probably in her late 60s or early 70s, wear something so beyond her years with such confidence.

    • She is 62.

    • Terry C - NJ says:

      Sylvia is 65.

One of the most beautiful Miss Universe winners EVER.

  29. Donald Latham says:

I was standing there supporting my friend Chelsea Cooley (Miss USA 05) and many of the other Miss USA’s! This was a monumental moment in Pageant History and I was so honored to be graced with so many talented women! Meeting Miss Universe 1954 Miriam was an Honor as well!

    • Donald, you are truly a lucky guy, to have the opportunity to meet in person so many beauties, that’s incredible.
I wish the MUO include pics of them at the Official website, after all they had made what the Pageant is today.

I surely hope they do the same with the Miss Universe Past Winners.

      Agreatguy.

  30. wow great beautiful <3 <3 <3

    • with all my due respect, it looks like the African American Ladies have a harder time keeping the svelte figure as the rest of the other queens.
In no way my comment is racist or what to make fun of anyone.
I respect Beauty Queens so much.
      It’s only an observation.

Sometimes I truly believe that these girls are being pushed to be way too perfect.

      Sincerely,
      Agreatguy

      • Carol Gist is actually a personal trainer at a gym in Michigan. Plus, she teaches several classes. Her body is excellent. The dress does her absolutely no justice.

        • Terry C - NJ says:

I think Carol and Kenya look just fine.

Why do people expect EVERY woman to be a size 2?
