Ready for the Universe: Miss Israel, Kim Edri

Kim Edri, a 19-year old model from Sderot, was crowned ‘Israel’s Maiden of Beauty’ last march, giving her the right to represent the country in the 2011 Miss Universe pageant in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

Edri has done extensive worked as a professional model and she recently started her military service.  This 1.75 m beauty has comparable looks to that of Australian supermodel and Victoria’s Secret angel Miranda Kerr.  Her undeniably beautiful face and poise make her a contender for the Miss Universe title.

Israel won the crown once in 1976 with Rina Messinger. Their last semi-finalist was Elena Ralph, in 2005.

their pageant system is confusing and I think they should have one woman who wears the crown of Miss Israel and a sash that actually says Israel instead of Beauty queen of 2011, and I think they should get rid of the other titles and start a separate Miss Teen Israel, and their age limits should be from 17-26 instead of 17-23, they also need to allow the girls to choose their own gowns and have an evening gown competition, instead of all the girls parading at the same time or in groups of 5, they also need to have the girls wear banners of the different cities in Israel, like Jerusalem, Haifa, Negev, Holon, Tel Aviv, to give the pageant a more nationalistic sense and they should use my friends crown design as a permanent crown for Israel, they should have blue sapphires and white diamonds in it the design is a marvel

Isreal does not have a good chance at Miss Universe. Israel has a SUPERGREAT chance to be Miss Universe. Wow, what a very lovely, striking, beautiful girl she is!!

I like her a lot but Ive liked a lot of Miss Israels before who didnt make semis at all. I hope she breaks that curse! This year is gonna be tough! There are a lot of great delegates from countries that usually dont do great. I hope that they are not over-looked for more traditional countries that make the semis.

as a fellow Middle Easterner, I would love to see Israel or Turkey win, and I look forward to the day when Morocco, Tunisia, My country ( Iraq) and Jordan come back to Miss Universe, I hope Lebanon sends a delegate this year and a strong one, and I think Egypt has a decent delegate as well, but Miss Israel should be in the top 4 this year and she may take it all, my favorites are KOSOVO, USA AND ISRAEL so far
