The three winners: Vazquez (Intl'), Riquelme (Universe), Huber (World) - ABC
Alba Lucia Riquelme Valenzuela, a student of public relations from Asuncion, was crowned Miss Universo Paraguay during the “Reinas Paraguayas” beauty pageant held on June 23rd. Alba, also a professional model, is 20 years old and stands 1.80 m tall. She will represent Paraguay at the 2011 Miss Universe pageant to be held in Sao Paulo, Brazil, in September.
Miss Mundo Paraguay is 20-year old Nicole Huber Vera, a student of interior design. She is 1.75 m tall and will compete in the 61st Miss World pageant to take place in London, England, in November.
Crowned as Miss International Paraguay was Stephania Vazquez, Stegman, a student of English. She will compete in the Miss International 2011 pageant to be held in Chengdu, China, in October.
The 1st runner-up was Coral Ruiz, while the 2nd runner-up was Lourdes Motta. In 6th place was Leticia Patino and in 7th place was Alexandra Fretes (to Miss Earth 2011 in Thailand). Alejandra Zaldivar was announced as Miss Bikini International Paraguay.

WORTHY CAUSES OF DIFFERENT PAGEANTS:
MISS UNIVERSE- promoting hiv/aids awareness, being a celebrity, a trump model
MISS EARTH – campaign in taking good care of our only mother earth, environmental issues like global warming, she serves as the spokesperson for United Nation’s environmental programs and other environmental organizations.
MISS WORLD – to become an object of charity works to earn money for the organization, object of business/politics
MISS INTERNATIONAL – just nothing. they should just give the crown to china every year and that’s it!
SO WHICH PAGEANT/S YOU THINK HAS THE BEST CAUSE AND RELEVANCE? AND SHOULD BE GIVEN ATTENTION AND PRIORITY OF EACH COUNTRY?

y the heck they have given miss earth to the 7th place!? don’t they know that miss earth is one of the big four pageants in the world!? it is such an insult to miss earth.. carousel must give the rights to other or better yet there should be miss earth paraguay pageant! miss earth kindly show the organizers of miss paraguay that you are not just a cheap pageant! my goodness.
they should have crowned a miss earth paraguay given to the 3rd or 4th placer or the the 1st runner-up at least! my goodness!

Gorgeous!!!! Praguay has been improving a lot in different pageants in this decade…Yanina and Lourdes are unforgettable but this country has also succeded in Miss Earth and Miss World (the delegate in 2010 should have made the top 5). Last year miaa Paraguay got some ground in the preliminaries and was considered as a possible top 15 , I think this girl has great potential…good preparation and she could repeat a top 5 for guaranies

why did they crown them so late? Miss Universe is less than 3 months away, that’s not enough time to prepare for Miss Universe.
Yes I agree she looks like Marianne Cruz, but she comes out like Justine Pasek to a less degree. Anyway, with that strong face, she could at least make it to the top 15, and Paraguay is a neighboring country to Brazil, so that certainly does not hurt her chances. Good luck!

Seems like Paraguay has pretty girls. I still remember how much i liked Yanina Gonzalez since she was elected, but that MU 2004 had one of the best TOP2 in years…
I wasn’t a fan of Yanina and didn’t find her that attractive. I like this girl better in fact.
