The Yulia
The Yulia, GB’s virtual trophy given to the GB Awards winners since its first edition, was created by Greg Borowski in 1999. It was named after Yulia Lemigova, Miss USSR Universe 1991, elected by GB the most beautiful Grand Slam candidate in the XX century.

gud Malaysia! Congrates Deborah Henry! We are so proud of you!
GB keeps the excitement going and the fire burning before, during, and after these pageants…
Just for their dedication and innovative ideas… GB (with its organizers/members) is already a WINNER !
Lovely page! Thank you for so much dedication to beauty pageants! They wouldn’t be the same without Global Beauties.com! Thank you! xxxx
Miss Taiwan Earth is soooo overrated. She looks great in photoshopped pictures but in person, not so really.
OLESYA STEFANKO IS THE PRETTIEST BY FAR OF ALL,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
in asia miss international second r up ms mongolia is totally negected
with SHAMCEY’s glory in the GLOBAL BEAUTY standards, the Philippines is indeed among the BESTs in the world when it comes to these Bs in 2011 and beyond: BEAUTY PAGEANT (Shamcey in Miss Universe/Gwen in Miss World and the very first glory in 2011; fashion’s SUPERMODEL of the WORLD DANICA Magpantay, BOXING Manny Pacquiao and more, BILLIARD Bata, Bustamante…, BOWLING Paeng N. and BELTING HIGH NOTES always in the Top 24 in American Idol with Jessica Sanchez for the 11th season and Charice in Glee!
Miss Panama International 2011 , muy bien merecido la mejor en Swinsuit
Mmm why did Leila Lopes didn’t place for best in evening gown or best evening gown? I thought she had one of the best evening gowns in Miss Universe this year.
And as much as I don’t like her, I think Vanessa Goncalves deserves a placement for best in swimsuit.
I agree about Vanessa Goncalves, as soon as I saw the category, I knew I was going to see her as one of the top three. I was left scratching my head when I didn’t see her.
I completely agree on the Vanessa Goncalves point. Yes, she was not very charismatic, she didn’t smile a lot and overall didn’t have a very likable personality, but regardless of that she has a KILLING body and I think she completely deserved to place as best in swimsuit.
I agree. Where is Vanessa Goncalves and Costa Rica’s Johanna Solano? Two of the best bodies (if not the best) of the last season.
Completely agree with ash about Angola – she has been unfairly shut out except for “best in Africa.” I thought her EG performance was extraordinary (and no Ivian for most beautiful EG??). The worst is Ecuador winning Face of the Year – has this award ever gone to a non-White woman?? The best would be the top 3 choices for best contestants of the year – although Zilin Luo, for me, is the contestant of 2011.
2nd place in best in swimsuit: Vanessa Ceruti (Chile / Universe) Yay, congratulations.
once again all the awards go to light skin girls and no actual award for miss angola who shined in the gown and presence in MU… the injustice continues!!!
The best winner is MU, Angola did a fantastic job and she deserves an award aside from best in africa!
Leave them alone and let them pick their choices. We all know our true winners therefore care less about this one. We will read but in our hearts we know the true winners.
Congratulation Leila for winning Face of Africa.
Congratulation Stephanie for winning Beauty with Substance.
Happy with Philippines winning best in evening gown but Ms.Universe should have placed too.
i was about to say that about miss Angola and GB sure does love Iliana Papageorgiou. China Universe should get 2nd or 3rd place stage presence. At least they got the best overall contestant correct, Ivan sure was. oh well, see you in 2012.
I also agree, I think Ivian was right as best overall contestant, but Leila should’ve won best winner. And I also think Greece Universe is a bit overrated. Australia Universe is very overrated.
Quite good results. At least Phillipines and Malayisa have got something they can’t complain about.
how d heck did miss venezuela got a stage presence.. imao!
You don’t understand the difference between the very self-explanatory ‘Most beautiful evening gown’ and ‘Best in evening gown’ awards AND you can’t see why a goddess like Ivian, who radiates charm, confidence and can work the stage like no one would get the stage presence award….You are NOT the sharpest too in the shed, right ‘olpaking’.
its really weird.. why are there 2 awards.. best in evening gown and the most beautiful evening gown? what’s the difference?? strange..
Easy. One is the girl wearing the gown. The other is the gown itself.
ms philippines as the cover story picture is 100% certified page-clicker for filipinos who account most of gb’s visitors, am i right? please say i am, hehe.
Most of GB’s visitors come from the USA.
Face of the year to Ecuador… Well there was this girl named Kelly Weekers that had the face of an angel. She was the true face of the year.
How come Shamcey Supsup, Best in Evening Gown and 3rd Runner up in Miss Universe, not even in the Top 3 in Asia? Doesn’t make sense.
Maybe when it comes to beauty, Shamcey fallss behind China U, Kazakhstan, Taiwan, Malaysia U, and Vietnam U. Had Deborah landed in the semifinals, I would say she’d kick Shamcey out of the top 10, let alone top 5.
Just be happy that your delegate gets Best in Evening Gown.
You are such a sore loser! stop bullying Miss Philippines!!! Your Miss Malaysia are the one Kicked out from the competition. Shamcey has the highest Asian placement in Miss Universe 2011. Accept that! It’s a fact!!
I think the category for Best Evening Gown should change to Best in Recycle Gown, then Supsup absolutely deserving 1st placement.
Whatever! Shamcey is still a winner! And your other candidates are losers… and will ever be! Accept it.
It has nothing to do with countries and I will not blindly support a delegate because of her country. I just thought there is always complaints from Philippines’s fans when their delegate (whether she is beautiful or not) doesn’t get what they want. I am being subjective here and just thought Deborah was better, that’s all. Since 1991 (when I started watching MU), Deborah is by far their best delegate from Malaysia. As for Philippines, I think no one can top the beauty and gracefulness of Miriam of 1999. Venus 0f 2010 was just cute and too bad she choked on the final question. As for Miss Sup Sup, I just think she has gone too far in the competition. I can’t bear watching her “tsunami” walk (as you guys call it) on stage.
Lame thing to say…you need spectacles dude!
ha deborah landed in top 15? but she didnt. sorry.. shamsey was great and she gave a good answer, she deserved the best gown, watched it again in youtube how she nailed the gown portion.
So true Mark, Shamcey is far better than Debbie by MILES! The nerve of these B@#^h to say such things!
ecuadorian beauties are great, olga miss earth and fernanda international. olga gets more beautiful as you look at her plus her wit and bubly personality while fernanda is a true goddess.
when will be the best pageant award?
best opening number, best stage, best host, best host city, best set of semi finalists? ect.
Best 2011 Winner, Ivian (Miss World). Well deserved!
I hate to say how much I am hating Miss Universe, starting since 2009, leaving the stunning De la Cruz without the crown. What about 2009 where all invited contestants ahead of time CLASSIFIED, of course, except Miss Haiti? (we all know that it was just about the publicity). There is no transparency and so much unfairness with other girls.
Welcome to the era of “The Collapse of Miss Universe”
Since 2009???? Oh please, Miss Universe’s credibility has been crumbling eversince Donald Trump too over the ownership way back before 2009.
Sorry there was a typo. I was going to say “…eversince Donald Trump TOOK over the ownership…”
any awards about best stage , best production and etc coming ?
These are just opinions of Global Beauties. Global Beauties have no credibility to judge.
Sorry, but yes, we have and we’ve had it for 14 years.
Pathetic! Ok, you had it for 14 years and what makes you think there can’t be a mistake?
We’ve had mistakes and we own them, because we are professionals. We cover the pageants, deliver the info to the GENERAL PUBLIC (not just fans) and offer a fun perspective while are it. We pick our favorites (we do not predict. GB believes that the competition is during the final night and not before). GB is not a fan site and doesn’t intend to be. It is different from the others. And we also want to thank you because even if you don’t like our website, you come here and post a comment. You are always welcome here.
I like the website that is why I always come here and post so you should learn to accept it and then comment without sending bitter feedback. No problem and I don’t care but that is how I feel brother and so be it. Thank you and please continue the good work in spite of ……..no problem! Ha-ha, GO GB and too bad I discovered you just before Ms. Universe started. Do you have a archive of all the pageants you have covered over the years?
Yeah right Jasminne, so that’s why you come here? you are lured to the site because of its lack of credibility?. I bet you are GB’s number one fan when they review favorably a candidate you root for.
I think you got the “Best Contestants of the Year” – absolutely spot on!
I love miss World 2011, she is so complete, she is not only pretty, but also she is so angel, elegant and great personality…
ESO ES MUY BUENO QUE IVIAN SARCOS (MISS MUNDO 2011) GANE TODAS LAS CATEGORIAS DE LOS PREMIOS GLOBAL BEAUTIES 2012, Y DE TODAS MANERAS FELICIDADES A LA MISS MUNDO 2011 IVIAN SARCOS.
What happened with the award for best National Director?. Osmel totally deserved that one!!!
It’s coming up.
Will there be also awards for male contestants (from Manhunt Int’l and Mr. International 2011)?
This is the second year in a row Venezuela World takes the Stage Presence award!. This was definitely Ivian’s year!!!
Yeah Malaysia! Congrates Deborah Henry! We are so proud of you!
