A transexual’s desire to compete in Miss Universe has submerged the 61-year old beauty pageant in its biggest controversy ever. Jenna Talackova and attorney Gloria Allred gave a press conference in Los Angeles on Tuesday to discuss the situation.
The Miss Universe Organization released an official statement on Monday, allowing Talackova to compete in the Canada leg of the competition as long as she provided her country’s legal gender recognition. Allred criticized Trump’s handling of the situation.
“Jenna entered this competition and gave the pageant her time, her best efforts and her money,” Allred said. “She did not think for one moment that what she might have looked like at birth would be relevant. She did not ask Mr. Trump to prove that he is a naturally-born man, or to see the photos of his birth, to view his anatomy, to prove that he was male. It made no difference to her. Why should it have made a difference to him?”
Allred said that the organization’s actions did not go far enough, and she implied that Talackova is considering suing the pageant.
“Mr. Trump’s statement fails to state that the rule that only naturally-born women will be allowed to compete will be eliminated,” Allred said. “Otherwise, we are considering all of Jenna’s legal options.”
Talackova was born male but has identified as female since the age of 4. She began hormone therapy at 14 and underwent gender reassignment surgery at age 19.
“When I was selected as a finalist, I was thrilled. I had always dreamed of being in the Miss Universe competition, and having an opportunity to represent my country, Canada,” she said, adding that she felt “devastated” after being told by pageant officials she could not compete because she was not “naturally born” a woman. “The reason that they gave was unjust.”
“I have never asked for any special consideration. I only wanted to compete,” Talackova continued. “I wish Mr. Trump would just say, in plain words, whether or not I will be allowed to compete and, if I win, whether I will be allowed to represent Canada in the Miss Universe competition.” said Talackova.
Meanwhile, Miss Universe owner Donald Trump lashed back at Allred’s statement, claiming, “I think Gloria would be very very impressed with [my penis].”
Trump also said he wouldn’t apologize for disqualifying Jenna last week from the Miss Universe pageant on the basis of her birth gender — even though he later reversed his position — and added, he “couldn’t care less” if Jenna even competes. People and TMZ

Is this really the best the transgender community can come up with to represent them?, I was so disappointed when I saw those last pictures; she is a walking stereotype: the skanky mini dress, the violent behavior, it’s depressing. And then to top all of it, she hires the devil herself to represent her in a non-existing case of discrimination. I was actually excited when I first heard about it, but frankly at this point I’m not a fan, this story and herself are just a hot tranny mess.
Jenna should actually do the MISS CONTINENTIAL PAGEANT SYSTEM, but however, the system looks for class and grace in there contestants, this is for both drag and transexual contestants only, and they have to have the talent to back it up. With that said, looking at her pictures atop and her threats to sue, her time is numbered and in no way shape or form should she be allowed to compete at this point. She has contribute, and now created a hostile envirnoment that will ruin her in the long run. PS, for a “ladyboy” she is looks very ruuuuuufffff around the face, and she does not look “natural” at all.
OMG is this a joke, Miss Universe should stand on it’s ground and advise that Miss Universe is for naturally born females only, whether you have had an operation to have a sex change, that’s the persons choice, but pageants like Miss Universe and Miss World is for contestants who are born as female, not born male and transform into a female at their own wish, of course you can do what aspires to you do in life, but at the end of the day, Miss Universe is for naturally born, single females.

LOL miss world 2011 first runnerup (Philippines) is NOT a transgender.. My say on the issue is Miss Universe, Miss World, Miss Earth even Miss International are for women. im not againts jenna’s case but if she does win in canada and compete for miss universe i think that the essence and credibility of the pageant (Miss Universe) will fade. I know there are pageants specifically for transgenders, so i guess why not join this jenna? or be a model like isis(antm) anyway all the best for you!

I believe that it is not for the creature to determine what its nature is, only the Creator has the authority to do that. An inventor may create a phone that looks like a remote control, but then, only He can declare it’s real function. What you are when you were born is the real you.

I knew this Jenna was up to no good. She just wants to be famous. Once this issue dies down, no one would even remember who she is.
I think Gloria is a pure 100 % nut case to sue an organization for such stupid case. Jenna should have known and understood the gravitas of the issue before entering a pageant which is purely designed for “NATURALLY BORN WOMEN ONLY”. She can always step up for other modeling pageants, not these category of beauty pageants per say. If she participates, i have no idea what will happen in Thailand. The whole issue is being blown out of proportion for absolutely no reason.

I think it is fine if she competes, but is it really wise to threaten to sue a pageant that you could possibly be in? Trump has a lot of sway in this pageant, and even if she made the cut, he may drop her out due to this.

This Jenna Talackova is just so smart. She just want to make a lot of money out of Miss Universe and may not join the pageant anymore. It is very clear year after year that the pageant is for women ages 18-25 and it is already very clear and this Jenna Talackova just fell on deaf ears and wants to find a way to break it. A women is a woman for a reason they have different kind of organisms, they were built to do things that mens are not allowd to do because of our constitution, and no matter how many surgeries do you have or how strong is the feeling or the conviction in your mind that you are a women or a men, we born as women or a men for a reason and no matter what is something that you should live with, accept your body and your destiny in the world, im not sayin that be gay or transexual is bad, im saying that no matter what, we still remind men or womens, because a transexual, dosent have the ability of have a children, been a REAL mom (beacuse for the brain of a man and the brain of a women taht funcion is completly diferent) or have the tremendous intelligence of a women, we are diferents starting with the brain and finshing with the sex in our body.

she knew the rules of the MUO, it is unfair for the other contestants, and for women around the globe that are mom´s, that are married or that they have been married, it is my personal belive that first this kind of issues should be first, because this pageants are for womens to celebrate feminity and beauty, she is actually a men, and that is the gender that she is alway going to have, no matter how many laws or how many rules she breaks, she born as a men and her origin is a men origin and for beautiful natural or not natural woman this kind of attemps are an offense to the effort of the other contestants, we have pageants for mens , pageants for womans, and transexuals also have the own pageants.

The Universe Organization had disqualified a previous contestant for being pregnant, simply because the rules state so… then why not a contestant who was born a male?

MUO is so smart….they know this Jenna person has no legitimate legal grounds to sue considering she lied on her applicaion. Now MUO can receive all the publicity they want and they don’t have to do a single thing….merely sit back and relax. All the while, we all know that Jenna will never win Miss Universe and I doubt she will even win Miss Canada. She is the one being used and when her 15 minutes of fame is up she will be forgotten.
