TV5 partners with Miss World Philippines

MANILA, Philippines – Miss World Philippines finds a new home in TV5 as it partners with the most aggressive broadcast network in the country.

Following the success of the first Miss World Philippines last year and the first runner-up finish of Gwendoline Ruais at the Miss World pageant held in London, England, the prestigious pageant continues to move forward for a bigger and more meaningful celebration of Beauty with a Purpose, underscoring the advocacy of Miss World in championing the cause of marginalized women and children.

Now that TV5 is its official media partner, Miss World Philippines is set to bring together the most beautiful Filipinas to give them a memorable and once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to present to the world the true beauty and brilliance of today’s Filipina.

With beauty and wellness guru Cory Quirino at the helm, Miss World Philippines begins its nationwide search for candidates who possess the outstanding qualities of a future beauty queen that will give the country a winning chance to claim the Miss World crown which has long eluded the Philippines for 61 years.

This year, the stage is set for the upcoming Miss World Pageant on Aug. 16 in Ordos, Inner Mongolia China where more than 113 candidates from all over the world will compete for the crown that will proclaim the winner as the most beautiful woman in the world.

Present at the contract signing were TV5 president and CEO lawyer Ray Espinosa and CQ Global Quest, Inc. chair and CEO and Miss World Philippines 2012 Pageant director Cory Quirino.

“We are happy to welcome Miss World Philippines to TV5 and we will be equally proud of the candidates who will join this year’s pageant as well as our future Miss World Philippines who will vie for the Miss World crown,” Espinosa said.

Quirino stated, “Miss World Philippines is pleased to have found a new home in TV5 which secures the future of this prestigious pageant and strengthens the hope of every Filipina who holds the dream of becoming a beauty queen.”

TV5 will air the Miss World Philippines Pageant live from the Manila Hotel in late June.  The much-anticipated Miss World Pageant in Inner Mongolia, China will also be broadcast live via TV5 in August.

dear,..sabi nga ni JULIA MORLEY,…your can be 5’1 and still even win the MISS WORLD CROWN,..heheheh,..although may pagka fiction ang sabi ni MORLEY,…pero nga who knows diba???,…she ranges from 5’5-5’7 and who knows?,..Julia doesnt ”care” in the height,…

  3. hoping for Helen Nicolette Henson for 2012 Miss World Philippines!

  4. talks between MWP and TV5 have started last year even when the 2011 pageant was not over yet. apparently, there were talks that they wanted it to become a reality show. but with the current schedule i guess it would be not feasible.

  5. I think it’s not good for the Miss World Philippines to transfer to TV5 … it will just lose it’s gaining popularity !

  6. Yes, MJ is beautiful but she’s really petite. If you have observed, Miss World loves tall women…

      • Let’s see but I’m pretty sure she doesn’t really mean what she said. Look at the past winners of Miss World, walang mga pandak ha…

But if Megan Young would be our representative, 100% and kutob ko na mananalo tayo!

        • hahahah,…yeah right my friend,..sa MWP na lng sumali si Megan,..kasi for sure,..eechosan lng cya,..kasi sa MU na international pageant,…magkaka transgender na eh,..heheheeh

        • Excuse me!! Sinong nagsabi sa iyo na walang pandak na winner sa Miss World. Miss Jamaica who won the Miss World contest in 1963 was only 5’3″. Mag research ka nga muna bago ka bumanat.

          • Miss World says:

Very good nag-research ka talaga…may pag-asa pala ang mga pandak…1:60 ang ratio ha and take note 5′ 3″ is already considered tall in the 60s…o siya ipadala mo agad yang MJ mo sa local pageant natin…baka sa Miss World-Philippines pa lang ligwak na kaagad siya…bwahaha!

  7. why on TV5?

  8. i also feel for miss sherlyn gonzales, shes more beautiful than the winner of bb. pilipinas universe.

  9. The Binibini Pilipinas alumnae I want to see cross over to MW are Luzelle Felipe and Ali Forbes. Both have the natural beauty and elegance that MW will appreciate.

  10. MJ Lastimosa & Angelee delos REYES should try and compete for Miss World Philippines. These ladies were both robbed and must be vindicated!

  11. i agree, she is the biggest upset from the recent bb. pilipinas.MJ GO for Miss World

  12. I feel for Miss Lastimosa. The results of the recent pageant she joined might be a blessing. Yup, she most certainly would be a worthy candidate in this pageant.

  13. MJ should do some charity work and join this pageant.

  14. Richard of London says:
