Some of the 24 finalists of Miss Turkey 2012
It is confirmed: once again the winner of Miss Turkey will compete in Miss World 2012. The 1st runner-up will go to Miss Universe, the 2nd runner-up to Miss Earth, and the 3rd runner-up to Miss International. One of the finalists might represent Turkey in Miss Supranational.
Twenty-four candidates have been selected for the pageant, which will happen in the end of May. In one of the strongest Turkish groups of candidates in over a decade, pageant veteran Merve Sari appears as the front-runner and number 1 favorite for the pageant.

Tugce Kursunoglu, another well-known face in the Turkish pageant business, is another strong possibility for the crown.
Two girls are acting in the most popular series on Turkish TV (also popular in the Balkans, Arabian states and Hungary): “Magnificent Century”. They are Semiha Bazek and Gozde Coskun. Pageant observer Nick C believes that fans should keep an eye on both as well, especially Gozde.
The reality show style adopted by the pageant last year did not work, so Miss Turkey will be back to its old style in 2012. The telecast final event will happen on May 31.
Turkey currently ranks in 45th place in the G2 Ranking, and in 39th place in the Grand Prix Ranking. Its only Grand Slam title was conquered in 2002, when Azra Akin was crowned Miss World.

I do agree thought that the first runner up in Miss USA should compete in Universe
Miss Turkey is poorly organized, they should change the system and have runners up and one winner instead of 4 joint winners
One of the best national pageants…..I hope you can give us a coverage of this instead of the same old boring Miss USA which only sends a rep to Miss Universe and is already covered extensively elsewhere. I mean, I just don’t understand why Miss USA is always singled out as a contest to specially cover instead of others that are just as interesting if not more so, like Miss India, Miss Venezuela, Miss South Africa, Miss Russia, Miss Israel etc.
