The 2012 Miss Universe Canada competition kicked-off today at The Sandman Signature Hotel Toronto Airport where the 62 delegates from across the country gathered to have their official pictures taken by celebrity photographer Fadil Berisha.
They are expected to take part in a number of activites leading up to the final competition on May 19 at the St. Lawrence Centre For the Arts – The Bluma Appel Theatre.
Entertainment Tonight Canada, CP 24, The Toronto SUN, The Toronto Star and SUN Media have been covering the pageant’s pre-activities. The final will be webcast live.

That wasn’t “confusion & trouble”, it was publicity for the organization. As Trump says, there is no such thing as bad publicity. If nothing else it might help boost ratings for MU which has struggled the last few years. I hope Jenna wins!

Most of the negative comments against Jena come from women that can’t accept that a
transexual can be more feminine, beautiful and elegant than millions of women.
She is oficially a women..not a man anymore… and it was not her fault that she was born in a male body. I saw her in an interview in TV and she is a total woman..feminine, beautiful, elegant.

Miss Universe accepts women up to 27 years of age. Sahar just turned 26. Leila Lopes is 26.

SUZETTE NICOLAS…. Miss Canada 2012 finalist from Vancouver, B.C., has a very interesting bio. She sacrificed to cut her hair and donated them to B.C. Cancer society. Because hair is an asset, and she wants less unfortunate ones who are unable to grow their hair. And she is willing to do that again.
I hope a real woman wins… transgenders have their own pageant and they don`t allow girls borned female to compite… isn`t that discrimination as well??????

I don’t think Jenna Talackova will make the top 3. It’s not that she’s not beautiful enough, but I hardly think the judges are willing to crown a transsexual and let her represent their country.

Even if Jenna doesn’t win, I hope that this year’s winner can bring Canada back into the semifinals at Miss Universe. Since Alice Panikian placed as a top 10 finalist at MU in 2006, Canada has not placed at Miss Universe, but has placed 4 times at Miss World, placed once at Miss International, won a Miss Earth crown, and placed three times at Miss Tourism Queen.
