Change in Nigeria’s delegate for Miss World

Damiete Charles-Granville (21), who was crowned Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria-Universe (1st runner-up) last May, will represent Nigeria at the 2012 Miss World competition in Ordos, China, in replacement of the original winner Isabella Ayuk.  Damiete was supposed to compete in Miss Universe.

A statement has not been released by Silverbird Productions, organizers of the MBGN competition; however sources in Nigeria say that the switch might had something to do with Ayuk’s age (she was 25 when winning the pageant, one year over the Miss World limit).

Given the case, Charles-Granville will definitely represent the African nation in Ordos, while Isabella Ayuk will participate in the Miss Universe competition in December (age limit for Miss Universe is 27 years old).

  1. Looking very fresh, young and natural. My vote goes to her…

  2. Thank God, there was a change. Lets hope she does Nigeria proud. But will she then be upgraded to be the new MBGN 2012

  3. Such a lovely face…she would’ve been a heavy favourite at MU2012, but Miss World is also a prestigious platform for her…all the best to both Damiete and Isabella!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Always the prettier one goes to miss world for them always :-(

  5. She was one year over the Miss World age limit? So that would make the age limit 24, right? But wasn’t Bokang Montjane older than that last year, or is this age limit a recent change?

    • I believe Isabelle Ayuk turned 26 after the pageant, which is why she was rejected by Miss World Organizers

  6. I Like Her!!!!

  7. I don’t know the girl in the picture is Daimette or Ayuk ???

    • The girl in the picture is Damiette but you could have saved yourself asking someone else by doing a simple google search!

  8. She is pretty! I wish she was going to Miss Universe as well
