PITTSBURGH — It was announced on Monday, July 2nd, that the reigning Miss Pennsylvania Teen USA, Julie Belechak of Cranberry Township, will take over the duties of former Miss Pennsylvania USA Sheena Monnin during the rest of the year until a new state winner is crowned.
Pageant officials said the Miss Pennsylvania USA position will remain vacant until the 2013 winner is chosen. Sheena Monnin resigned to the title last month after claiming the Miss USA competition was rigged.
Julie Belechak is also preparing to represent her state at the upcoming Miss Teen USA 2012 finals to be held at the Atlantis, Paradise Island (Bahamas) on July 28th.
Double duties should receive double compensation.
Do they actually get paid for appearances?
They receive year long salary and benefits.
What if she wins Miss Teen USA?
The MUO will take over to the 1st Runner Up. Remember whwn Chelsi Smith and Brook Mahelani Lee won the title last 1995 & 97, the 1st Runner up well take their place as local title
What if the runner-up declined the title? Because if she accept it, she will no longer qualify to try for a second try for the title and compete in Miss Teen USA next year.
doesn’t the title pass on to the runners up, if the first runner up declines then second runner up etc…
I heard the runner-up declined the title because if she became Miss PA USA, she would be ineligible to compete for the 2013 state title and thus compete in Miss USA.
Wow…Miss Teen never thought she’d be doing double duty…I wonder why the title didn’t go to the 1st Runner Up?
