“As some of you may know, Bullying is something that I dealt with for many years and have absolutely zero tolerance for. I will be working as an ambassador for pink shirt day organization, promoting anti-bullying across Canada and the rest of the world”.
This was Miss Universe Canada Sahar Biniaz’ statement after taking part in a small candlelight vigil she organized while in Nicaragua, during her participation in Fashion 4 Smiles with the aid of other Miss universe 2012 contestants.
Amanda Michelle todd was a 15-year old teenager from Port Coquitlam (British Columbia), Canada, whose suicide was attributed to cyber-bullying through Facebook.
Christy Clark, the Premier of British Columbia made an online statement suggesting a national discussion should be made about criminalizing cyber-bullying.
Sahar also hails from British Columbia and experienced the effects of bullying during her younger years. Helping the victims and preventing others to incur in this dangerous behavior is something that she holds close to her heart.
Where there is darkness, light candles so that they can shine brightly… For light stands for understanding, respect, love for oneself and others. Bullying is one the consequences brought about by a society that resufes to accept differences; a society that still can’t see we are all one big family. The world could be a paradise now, if it is not, it’s because there are still many of us holding on to greed, prejudice, selfishness, etc.
Let the light shine brightly.
They are all beautiful but i dont believe Panama will make the top 16!! But well as a latin beauty has potential and is a contestant to watch
People should refrain from commenting on which one of these women will be in the semi-finals and focus on just what they are representing here : a global concern.
I mean come on, people ! Get some perspective !
If you want to comment on their beauty, go to GB’s Miss Universe 2012 contestant page.
Anyways, hope this poor girl’s family are coping with their tragic loss and fair play to these 4 women for supporting them
Very well said! Thank you!
Being from British Colombia Canada where Sahar and Amanda Todd are from, I am absolutely Impressed at these 4 beauty queens who have taken time in their busy schedule to remember not only Amanda but all victims of bullying. It is so prevalent in our societies all over the world and by shedding light on it when they can be talking beauty, it shows that these four beauty queens are not only beautiful but they have a heart and care for such issues. Thank you to Puerto Rico, Ecuador, Panama and Canada for showing us what true beauty really means and I wish you 4 all the best in the upcoming Miss Universe Pageant.x
Estoy impresionado como TODOS excepto WAYD, no se fijaron en el BULLING el cual fue victima AMANDA TODD, lo cual ocacionó su muerte, solo les interesa las coronas, las bandas y los cetros??
I’m impressed as all but WAYD, no notice of the victim of bulling, AMANDA TODD, the reason of her Death, only interested in the crowns, and sashes?

Puerto Rico has the most beautiful natural face an overall look here. Ecuador was my early fave to win Miss Universe but I don’t like her packed-on eye makeup here. All 4 looks fine.
Canada & Ecuador are stunning. Top 5 material !
At this time, I like Miss Ecuador & Miss Canada.
