Bolivia wins Panamerican Queen of Sugarcane 2012 title

sugarThe traditional Panamerican Queen of Sugarcane contest came back to life in the city of Cali, Colombia, and Miss Bolivia,  Yohana Paola Vaca Guzmán, was chosen as winner. Yohana won the title Miss World Bolivia 2011 and participated in Miss World last year, in London.

The 1st runner-up was Margarita María Peralta Tovar, Miss Colombia, and the 2nd runner-up was Elba Mercedes Fahsbender, Miss Peru. The representatives of Honduras and Mexico rounded out the top 5. 14 candidates competed for the title.

Two Misses Universe – Luz Marina Zuluaga of Colombia (1958) and Martha Vascocellos of Brazil (1968) – were among the judes, along with Julieta Urrutia Chang of Guatemala, Miss International 1984, Vanesa Mendoza, Miss Universe Colombia 2002, and Francisco Escobar, Mister World 2012, from Colombia.

The pageant came back with great reviews and decent press coverage. Apparently the sweetest beauty contest on the globe, will be back in 2013.

Congratulations to Bolivia!

Bolivia comenzó ganando Reinado Internacional del Café y terminó ganando El Reinado Panamericano de la Caña de Azucar en Colombia!!!

  6. Most of these beauty pagents (Queen of Coffee, Banano, Sugancain…) are part of the fair of carnibal in the region or country, which porpose is to promot the main product of the region, in this case Sugarcain. They are very traditional and importan for the contestants and winners. The winner’s job is to promot this product to the rest of the world.
Forgive my bad grammar and spelling, English is not my first language.

    • Pancho, thank you for that explanation and belive me, your English is very very good.

  7. Queen of Sugarcane, please would you really want to be known for winning that competition.

  8. Arethusa Bravacasa says:

We should also have Miss Vinegar, Miss Soy Sauce, Miss Ketchup, Miss Sausage, Miss Milk, Miss creamer, Miss Cholocolate.

  9. What are these beauty titles? LOL anyway congratulations to all the winners.

  10. Arethusa Bravacasa says:

isnt the girl on left photo looks like Miss Earth 2006 Miss Chile.?

  11. Is that Vanessa Mendoza????? :O She used to be my fave at MU 2002. Glad to see her doing well now. :)

    • Anyway, WOW some list of judges this pageant is got going on there. Aside from Vanessa, they also have 2 MU winners, 1 MI winner & 1 Mr. World. Bravo for them. MUO, I hope you take notes….

  12. HAHAHAHAHA Starbucks! Classic!

  13. This is a refreshing article.

After those controversies such as Miss Tourism’s patent name issue; MW, MI and MU’s winners each to be homeland delegate; and ME being removed from GB’s grand slam… this Sugarcane pageant looks very diabetically sweet.

If we combine Queen of Coffee, Queen of Sugarcane, and Queen of Cattle for milk/creamer, then, it will be equal to Miss Starbucks. To complete a perfect morning, Miss Donut or Miss Croissant must be created….

    Bon Appetit !

    • I like your idea, hahaha. Maybe it’s the right time to have a new world order in pageantry.

  14. WOW FRANSISCO ESCOBAR WAS THERE

WOW MR. WORLD 2012 COLOMBIA ROCKS
