Oh my, just move on, people!!! Olivia is a great and beautiful Miss Universe. She was not on my list of top 5, only because of her gown; however, she delivered in an unrehearsed way and that’s probably what the judges were looking that night. She is a very intelligent girl who is eloquent and poised in an interview. Move on and let the woman enjoy her reign.
you shud have written: move on “pinoy”, because only the pinoy who have issues on moving on with their lives post-ms universe. others, i believe have forgotten who won the crown last year, so to speak.
Well, I am Pinoy and I was really very happy and very excited when Miss USA was announced the winner, meaning, from the very moment she was declared Miss Universe. Olivia is amazing! I wish her all the best! Go, go, go Olivia Culpo!!!

With all due respect, I’m not trying to take anything away from Olivia but I don’t necessarily think she gave the best performance that night neither could it be considered a “great” performance. Her answer in part did not really showcase her intelligence. I’m not saying that she’s not intelligent. But if she is, then it didn’t really show from her answer. Her answer might reveal a great personality (again, not the best, but still great nonetheless), but certainly not a great intelligence. That why I don’t consider Olivia the embodiment of the past MU winners of the ’90s; and she certainly ain’t no Lara Dutta no matter how many people seem to believe that. Olivia won because of pure luck, that’s it. If she competed in any other year or with different set of judges, I don’t think the outcome would be the same. She was lucky that the judges favored her more than any other girls, some are probably more superior than Olivia in many aspects, yet fate sided with Olivia that night and she ultimately won the crown. So kudos to her. But no, she’s no Lara Dutta. Thanks.

Olivia’s final question at Miss Universe didn’t show depth or intelligence.
That’s because there wasn’t any depth to that final question. Olivia won because she didn’t try hard to give an answer that would cause scandals or of politically correct nature. She was probably more relaxed on stage. What set Olivia apart from the rest of them was the way she answered. She was more like a guest on talk show, in a conversation with the show host. Anyway, she is a great Miss Universe. Just move on, guys!
I’d watch out for the Philippines next year. Some Filipino fans go nuts in pageant forums, which is annoying (sorry but it is true). Nonetheless, no one can deny in the past few years, their MU delegates get stronger. They are doing the right thing and I expect another top 5 in MU 2013, if not a winner. As long as they pick the right girl, she will go far at MU. Forget about Tsunami walk or Cobra walk. That sounds silly! Send us another Miriam Quimbao and you’ll get the crown.

Wow. What a lovely Miss Universe. Though I do understand that many people are upset by her “home-town” win (crowned, for Pete’s sake, by her two roommates, Leila Lopes and Miss Teen USA), you still have to admit: she had the most beautiful face in the Pageant.
Erg no I don’t think so. I congratulate her on her victory but it doesn’t mean that I agree with it, and neither do I think she has the prettiest face in the pageant. Olivia is pretty but certainly not the prettiest (for me). There are a lot other girls in the competition whom IMO are light years ahead than her in terms of facial beauty. Among the top-5, I think Venezuela’s Irene Esser is way more beautiful than Olivia. Too bad she screwed up her interview.
Even though I think Philippines should’ve won I have to agree more with Michael. Olivia definitely had one of the best faces of the pageant. I thought Irene was overrated and she couldn’t take a good candid to save her life.
Have to be honest that eventhough Irene was one of my faves, I like Misses Georgia and New Zealand better in terms of facial beauty. And so is Miss South Africa whom IMO should’ve made the top-5. I only pointed out that AMONG THE TOP-5, Irene was my fave. But oh well, it’s all in the past and we can’t change the results. Olivia won, end of story, so congrats to her.
