Currently touring India, Miss World Chairman Julia Morley and Miss World Yu Wenxia paid an important visit the Muktangan today, an NGO providing critical educational support for economically deprived children in the community.
Vanya Mishra (India 2012) spends considerable time working with Muktangan, and her work in the run up to Miss World 2012 won her the Beauty with a Purpose award at the final in August. Today was the presentation of $10,000 to Muktangan, because of Vanya’s hardwork. The winner of Beauty with a Purpose each year receives this prize for the causes they worked with, a vital boost to funds that go towards helping some of the world’s most needy.
Today was also a time for sharing stories, meeting new people and learning about other people’s lives. Miss World Chairman Julia Morley talked of the importance of organisations such as Muktangan, and how they can bring about real and lasting change for those in their care, creating a brighter future, through love and support. The children of Muktangan had the pleasure of meeting their second Miss World too, having previously been visited by Miss World 2011 Ivian Sarcos.
Vanya Mishra was at the celebration to witness the handing over of the cheque, to see how her efforts had truly brought positive change to Muktangan, and the promise of a brighter future.
