It’s a shame, she was not affraid of saying what she really wanted in the pagent while comenting. Very patriotic. But what is interesting is that when she won, the people didn’t like her. They wanted the contestant that finished in second place. She only became more atractive after the Miss Brasil Pagent.
She’ll be missed. And she also remained a beautifull woman until 73.

I never knew the woman but my God, was she stunning or what??!? Looking at her picture, I can’t help to feel a little nostalgic about the old-days beauty queens, back in the days where beauty queens are truly BEAUTY QUEENS in every sense of the word, regal, elegant, in all their feminine glory, a celebration of a true and complete woman inside and out. Oh where have they gone? Are we not to find another woman like them anymore in these modern times? *sigh*

Thank you for the article. Adalgisa was a very special woman – not only was she beautiful, but she also had that spark that true beauty queens have. She was witty and never afraid to speak her mind. She openly shared the nation’s disappointment back in 2007 when Natália Guimarães lost the MU title to Japan.

Because I have always been interested in beauty pageants, I felt that, with her passing away, I had lost a friend too, a loss which reminded me that we are here on this plantet just for a short time and that only the true, the beautiful, the right and the good are things/ people/ ideals worth living for…

She tied with Miss Colombia. Then, they asked both of them what they wanted to do after Miss Universe, and Adalgisa said that she wanted to get married. That is why, Miss Colombia won.

That is how a beauty queen should look like. Back in those days, Miss Universe contestants toured Brazil and took part in many pre- pageant activities since the Miss Universe organization considered the Brazil pageant as what the contest was all about at that time.

This is very sad and if I may say, she was a stunning looking young woman.
