In just three days the first ever Mister Supranational contest will kick off in the city of Nowy Sącz, Poland. There´s a lot of expectation on this contest for some good reasons. Like football for women, beauty competitions for men gained some ground only in the 1990´s, but so far these events´ productions have not come even close to the traditional women´s beauty pageants.

The first relevant international competition for men happened in Gold Coast, Australia, back in 1993. We are talking about Manhunt International, created by Mr. Alex Liu of Singapore. In the 1990´s and early 2000´s it had some pretty good productions, but in the last years it has lacked consistency: after 4 years without taking place, Manhunt International returned to the spotlight earlier this year, in China, with a good production.

Three years after Manhunt International came to life, the Miss World Organization decided to launch its own male version of Miss World, Mr World. The first edition took place in Turkey and had a magnificent production. Two years later, it happened in Portugal, in what remains its best show ever. However, just like Manhunt International, Mr World is not an annual event. Lately it has been happening every two years, with a unique formula. Like it or not, it has found its own niche, and this is a fact.

Created by pageant fan Alan Sim in 2006, Mister International is the other major event of this nature still alive. Although the “baby” (up to now) among the “big” ones, Mister International is the most consistent one, happening every year ever since it had its first edition. When it comes to results, it is also the one that generally (but not always) shows outcomes closer to the expected by the specialized media. As for its stage productions, it depends 100% on who and which country are hosting it, ranging from lousy (Korea 2014) to very good (Philippines 2015).

Both Mister Internartional and Manhunt International clearly try to copy women´s pageants in their productions, including those big national costumes full of feathers and glitter (oh, my!).

Then we have the promising Mister Global, going into its 4th year and growing, and Mister Universal Ambassador, with an excelent number of contestants in 2016, but still with a long way to go when it comes to production and organization.

Dozens of other smaller events pop up every year here and there, but none considerably outstanding.

Mister Supranational, we have no doubts, will be born big, and probably bigger than most above mentioned events. Like Mr World, it will be the male version of a Grand Slam contest, in this case, Miss Supranational. It will be televised live by Poland´s most watched tv station, Polsat, and live or with a delay in at least 50 other countries (in addition to the webcast). Only there, it will leave everyone else much behind.

With the lights, good music and amazing stage we are used to see in Miss Supranational, and a very impressive first group of candidates, Mister Supranational producers told GB that the show will be different and unique, made for guys and with original elements. Even the way finalists and the winner will be announced, they promise will be unique.

The delegates will be judged in beauty and personality, like in other contests, but also in a photo challenge, on line interviews in which they will interact with their fans, and more. Mobstar is partner with the contest, and the one candidate with most “likes” in the app, will go straight to the Top 10. So make sure to download it and follow your favorites.

Other challenges will entertain the audience at home, while showing the participants´ personalities, their ability to work in group, and intelligence. Miss Supranational Australia 2015 Chris Fischer will take fans behind the scenes day after day, as the competition unfolds, in its social medias.

The winner, producers tell us, will be the young man with that “it factor” and charisma that could take him to stardom. He should also be someone capable of being a posite role model to people of all generations.

Global Beauties is a proud media partner of Mister Supranational and will bring you complete coverage of the event. You can also follow Mister International at Instagram @officialmistersupranational @officialglobalbeauties .

The contest will be co-hosted by Poland and Slovakia, including the cities of Nowy Sącz, Poprad and Krynica Zdrój, where the final televised telecast and production will take place, on December 3rd, 8 PM local time.

The expectation is that Mister Supranational  will raise the bar when it comes to men´s beauty competitions, which in the end, will be fantastic for the whole industry. After all, It does need a push to reach a higher place in the field of entertainement.

Best of luck to the candidates and producers of Mister Supranational 2016!
