MEXICO DF, March 11 — Denisse Franco Piña (19), a student of medicine from Culiacán, Sinaloa, was crowned Nuestra Belleza México 2017 during the conclusion of a 3-hour gala held at the Televisa studios in Mexico City on March 11th.

Standing 1.76 m in height, Franco will now represent Mexico during the 66th Miss Universe finals to be held next January. Although she fumbled on the final question, she was elected the winner by the panel of judges which included Nuestra Belleza 2002 Marisol González and actress Luz Elena González.

Second place went to Karla Lopez (Aguascalientes) and third place went to Citlaly Higuera (Tamaulipas).  Nuestra Belleza Organization will announce soon the international competitions for these beauties.

Televisa spiced up the production of the event with a spectacular multimedia stage, while the show itself adopted some elements from the Miss Universe pageant such as format and group presentation of the finalists.
