12/8 - Venezuela wins Miss Bikini International 2008
China (5th), Ukraine (4th), Venezuela (1st), Czech Republic (2nd) and Greece (4th)
In an exciting show beautifully choreographed by Daniel
Cunningham, Miss Bikini International drew to a conclusion with surprising results: the winner is Venezuela's
Lourdes Katherin Marquez, and her runner-ups are
Czech Republic (2nd place), Gabriela Korinkova, Ukraine (3rd), Vlada Yevsyeyeva, Greece (4th), Dimitra Tania Papanikolaou, and Xu Yi Jun, China (5th).
Official results for the 'top 10' were:
6) Brazil; 7) Mongolia; 8) Nicaragua; 9) Romania; 10) Belarus, China 2, and Bulgaria.
Favorites from Brazil (who actually won a prize for having the best figure in the competition) and Romania were virtually "left in the ice" in freezing Shanghai. Stunning Miss China deserved a better ranking than the 5th position she got.
The event took place at Shanghai's International Gymnasium.

12/6 - Special awards are given out during Miss Bikini's Preliminary event; Miss Greece's gift raises over US$ 4000 for charity
 It was a night o glamour, glitz and charity, as the 40 Miss Bikini International delegates joined some of Shanghai's finest families and businessmen at the fancy Nine Dragons exclusive club. The beauties paraded in national costumes, swimsuits and evening gown for the judges' appreciation.
The ones who brought national gifts from their home countries also participated in an very exciting and disputed auction. Miss Greece's gift and its Olympic motive was sold for over US$ 4000. "I bought it for E$ 50 and I knew it would be a success. The first Olympic Games took place in Greece, and now we will see it Beijing next year. I am glad it worked", she told the reporters.
It is needless to say that Miss Greece won the Miss Charity award.
The Best National Costume award was given to Miss New Zealand, while Miss Brazil received the "Miss Body Beautiful" Awards for having the best figure in the competition.
The 34th Miss Bikini International will be crowned on December 8 in Shanghai.

12/5 - After a demonstration of the traditional Chinese tea ceremony, the contestants flew to Shanghai, where they will get ready for Saturday's big final. They were welcomed by local organizers with a delicious dinner and beautiful gifts.

12/4 - Meet Miss Celebrity!
Local photographers in Shenzhen chose "Miss Celebrity", that girl with most intimacy with the cameras, who is never afraid of the flashes and lights of fame! After the announcement of the 3 finalists, who were Russia, Romania, and Venezuela, it was announced that Miss Romania was the winner of the Miss Celebrity prize. Congratulations!!
