10/23 - The Press Presentation of the Miss Earth Beauty Pageant ’07 Candidates

On October 23, 2007, the earth’s most beautiful women vying for the title of Miss Earth ’07 were presented to the press at the poolside of the Traders Hotel Manila, a Shangri-La hotel strategically situated on the Philippines ’ premier Roxas Boulevard by the historic Manila Bay.
Despite the soft, unexpected drizzle, the beauties flashed their sunny smiles and beamed a new hope with the promise for a cleaner, greener, safer earth and a brighter tomorrow for mankind. The Miss Earth pageant after all is not your usual run of the mill beauty competition. It advocates concern, raises the awareness, and presses the alarm for the preservation and saving of the beauty and bounty of Mother Earth.
This year’s batch is definitely one of the finest ever assembled from 86 countries around the world. Eager, beautiful, fresh faces with intelligent minds and brand new outlook came to convene on how to save and preserve Mother Nature. It is no secret that when someone beautiful woman is advocating something, it is difficult to resist.

Early press favorites among the delegates were Misses Brazil, Peru, Sweden, Canada, Korea, Switzerland, Ukraine, and Venezuela . The stunners include Misses Wales, Czech Republic, Dominican Republic, Thailand, Philippines, England, Guadeloupe, Guatemala, Kenya, and Spain.
It is much too early to do fearless forecasts because the girls’ charm and personalities will still unfold within the coming weeks. The candidates will be divided into three groups – one will tour Metropolitan Manila and Luzon Island , the second will travel to the exciting verdant Visayan and Mindanao Islands, while the third group will enplane to prosperous, booming Vietnam .
The candidates will all re-convene in Manila for the rehearsals and special title competitions. The grand finals night will be held on November 11 at the University of the Philippines Theater in the national capital of Quezon City .
