Preliminary Gala in Changzhou a total success
Jiahong Prime Age Compassion Tour. The Miss International 2006 contestants paraded in National Costumes, swimsuits and evening gowns in front of a panel of judges. At the end of the swimsuit competitions, five special awards were announced: Best Performance, Poise and Figure, Most Beautiful Smile, Best Image (style), and Most Vibrant.
At the end of the evening gown competition, the winner of the Compassionate Award was announced.
With this gala, the 52 beautiful delegates returned to Beijing, for the final rehearsals of the competition on Saturday. Top 12 semifinalists will have the chance to parade before the judges, and in the end Miss International and her runner-ups will be announced.

Miss Finland wins Miss Photogenic (China)
Miss Finland, 22-year old Karoliina Ylajoki, was elected "Miss Photogenic 2006" by press photographers covering the Miss International contest in Beijing.
She is the second photogenic winner in the event, being the first Miss Thailand, Vasana Wongbuntree, who was elected by Japanese photographers.
Karoliina, who was the 2nd runner-up at the Miss Suomi (Finland) 2006 pageant last February, comes from Tampere and is 1.73 m tall. She won the "Miss Photogenic China" plaque and a toy truck, courtesy of the sponsors.
52 contestants are taking part in the 46th edition of the Miss International contest. The delegates arrived in China on October 25th after spending 2 weeks of activities in Japan.
Chinese photographers currently place their bets on the beauties from Finland, Serbia, Spain and Venezuela. Finals will take place November 11th.

On Sunday, October 15th, the Miss International 2006 contestants gathered on stage during the Miss Japan 2007 election in Tokyo. The 52 delegates introduced themselves wearing their national costumes.
