'Top Model' beauty to represent Norway at both Miss World and Miss Universe

OSLO - Lene Egeli (21), a professional model from Stavanger, was crowned Froken Norge 2008 recently in a ceremony televised live on TVNorge.

The runner-ups were Marianne Birkedal and Lena Bjornas.

Lene, who stands 1.78 m tall, was 1st runner-up at the Norwegian Top Model tv show, the country's version of 'America's Next Top Model' created by Tyra Banks.

She will now compete in the Miss World 2008 contest to take place in Kiev, Ukraine, next October; and the Miss Universe 2009 pageant in a venue and date to be announced soon.

Meanwhile, Norway's representative to Miss Universe 2008 in Vietnam will be Lisa Mari Moen Junge, a 1.77 m model from Molde. Lisa Mari was one of the winners of the Froken Norge 2007 contest.
