Miss World Pernambuco 2009

Recife, BRAZIL - Karine Barros, a 18-year-old model from Recife, was crowned Miss World Pernambuco 2009 at an event held at the University of Pernambuco Convention Center last Friday.

She left behind other 14 finalists and will now get ready to compete at the 2009 Miss World Brazil pageant, on November 13.

Standing 1.72 m tall, Karine has green eyes and will study to be an actress. She speaks fluent English and enjoys practicing all kinds of sports.

47 beauties from across the state applied to compete at the Miss World Pernambuco pageant, but only 15 made it through the final casting. The final show had a colorful and modern production, showing the very best of the culture and beauty this Brazilian state has to offer.
