Former Miss World contestant from Slovenia competes at Eurovision 2008
Belgrade, SERBIA - Rebeka Dremelj, Miss Slovenia 2001, today one of her country's most popular singers, is currently in Belgrade, representing her country at Eurovision 2008. She will be performing Vrag Naj Vzame, Slovenia's entry in this year's contest.
Rebeka got the ticket to represent her native country after winning the Slovene national final EMA 2008.
Rebeka Dremelj is a true Slovene phenomenon. It was on the Miss World Talent Show in 2001 where she landed the outstanding second place and thus signed a contract with Sony Records London.
Now it's time for her to represent Slovenia in the Eurovision Song Contest 2008. She had over 150 performances last year. Rebeka is considered a dynamic and energetic singer, who owns her own underwear label called Rebeka's Dream.
"The funny thing is that 99% of European beauty pageants' fans are also fans of Eurovision", explains Martial Dumas, a self-declared French fan of both himself. "Unfortunatelly the reverse is not necessarily true, since pageants are not very popular in the Old Continent these days", he admits.
We wish Rebeka the best of luck this weekend!
