Former Miss Earth England is crowned Miss Universe Great Britain

Birmingham, UK , May 5 – In a ceremony which took place in Birmingham over the bank holiday weekend, 26-year-old Clair Cooper from London, was crowned Miss Universe Great Britain 2009.

Clair, a vibrant red-head, will now go on to represent Great Britain at Miss Universe this Summer in the Bahamas.

Runner-ups in the competition were 25-year-old Lydia Yhnell from Newport, and 19 year old Alize Mounter from Rhondda, Cynon, Taff.

The new Miss Universe Great Britain is a pageant veteran. She was Miss Earth England 2007 and a finalist in Miss England (World) 2006.
