Getting to Vietnam
Vietnam is the easternmost country on the Indochina Peninsula in Southeast Asia. It is bordered by China to the north, Laos to the northwest, Cambodia to the southwest, and the South China Sea to the east. With a population of over 85 million, Vietnam is the 13th most populous country in the world.
Its area is approximately 331,688 km² (128,066 sq mi) in area (not including Hoang Sa and Truong Sa islands), larger than Italy and almost the size of Germany. The perimeter of the country running along its international boundaries is 4,639 km (2,883 mi).
By Air:
Vietnam can be accessed via various major international airlines such as Vietnam Airlines, Air France, Lufthansa, Singapore Airlines, Malaysia Airways, Thai Airways, among others.
International flights go into Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi.
Departure tax on international flights is US$7 from Hanoi and US$8 from Ho Chi Minh City. Departure tax for domestic flights is d15,000.
Getting to Nha Trang
It is possible to visit Nha trang by all common means: flights, bus, train..ect
By flights: Vietnam Airlines operates daily flights connecting Nha trang, Hanoi, Danang and Ho Chi Minh city. The new airport is located around 20 km south of the city, and it takes about over 30 minutes to get to the downtown.
A regular flight from Ho Chi Minh City to Nha Trang via Vietnam Airlines costs around $50-80.
By trains: Visitors may catch trainsleaving daily from Ho Chi Minh City (12 hours), Hanoi (20 hours) and Danang (12 hours) to Nha trang.
By bus: Open tour bus or public bus will be a good option if you travel on budget: it takes approximately 11-12 hours from HCMC, 4-5 hours from Dalat and 12-14 from Danang.
