Miss World 2011 new format
Miss World 2011 will present a new dispute format: there will be 30 quarter-finalists, then 15 semi-finalists, and 5 finalists. Then the new winner will be chosen.
Fast-track winners will earn points, however, will not automatically advance to the semi-finals.
A scoreboard will be displayed at some point in the competition.
The dress rehearsal happens today.

The new point system kept the show from being boring as it had been for many years. It was exciting. Even though the world still does not see any competition going on onstage like gown and swimsuit rounds, the new format gave everything a sense, transparency and sure provided some excitement. I just can see that Miss World is now making itself attractive to many again. I think it is on its feet to be more popular in the US and the rest of the world where Miss Universe is favored over Miss World. Anyway, I think Miss World, with this format, will succeed in this vision.
Nov 07, 2011 @ 16:35:26
I truly dislike the new format… These are not the olympics…… They should have just kept as it was…. Fast track winners advance — if you noticed none of the fast track winners advanced with the exception of course, England. The girl from the Dominican Republic who won the sports fast track should have continued in the competition… out of the final top 7 maybe 3 or 4 were strong delegates –> Puerto Rico, Venezuela, England…
Nov 06, 2011 @ 09:25:19
now i think global beauty should start an award for the “best comment”
and the competitors should be selected from the people writting comments to each of the post on global beauty for every pageant
Nov 06, 2011 @ 08:52:45

Consider that these are personal predictions . . . these are but my analysis and observations. I have far known that there would a Top Thirty, I have by far have considered those points to come up with a potential set of Top Fifteen, have I not posted the list of fast track semi-finalists. However, I do welcome your opinion as well. Thank you.

I think the purpose of the new format is to select the new MISS WORLD who embodies the qualities of a total WOMAN. Just check the Fast Track Events, don’t you observe what qualities they are looking for in a Sports, Talent, Beach Wear, Top Model, and Beauty for a Cause category.
Nov 05, 2011 @ 21:37:27
Bahh It doesn’t matter if the format of the contest changes, at last the winner will be whoever Julia Morley wants
Nov 05, 2011 @ 18:00:46
Good format, but how is Miss World selected after the Top 30 are chosen? I don’t remember there being any competitions during the final telecast last year. Does anybody know?
Nov 05, 2011 @ 16:06:29
New Miss World Puerto Rico.
Nov 05, 2011 @ 14:33:35
Top 5
Strong Candidate
1. Canada
2. Philippines
3. Denmark
4. Kazakhztan
5. Venezuela
Nov 05, 2011 @ 14:17:37
I adore Hungary, Guadaloupe, Argentina, USA, Venezuela, Puerto Rico, Japan, China, Indonesia, Philippines, Ukraine, Australia, Korea, Colombia, Scottland, Spain, Belarus, Sweden, Kazakhstan, Barbados…
Nov 05, 2011 @ 13:53:43
Goodness me what on earth is the Miss World competition turning into??? Why not go back to the format of 2001 when the whole thing was put to vote and the world decided?? That way, at least the rules are clear cut
Nov 05, 2011 @ 23:41:08
i dont think so it was 2001 may be it was 2004
Nov 05, 2011 @ 12:03:28
i was waiting for this format since 2003 as first time ever miss world crossed the number of contestants above 100
there should be top 30 in all pageants which cross the number of contestants above 100
and top 25 for crossing above 75 participating contestants
and top 20 for crossing above 50 delegates participating
this will give a fair chance to every girl to make the cut
or else till now deserving beauties were left behind clapping just because of non deserving girls had regional birth in top 15 as always seen in miss universe
this shows that miss world is concerned about its importance in every girls life its not like miss universe which only thinks of saving the “MONEY” and making profit for “M.U.O.”
Nov 05, 2011 @ 14:18:00
OMG Brazil too, and others girls!!!
Nov 05, 2011 @ 11:51:40
now global beauties will have to predict top 50 beauties so to completely match there prediction with top 30 beauties in miss world finals
best of luck to all beauties
good news hahahahahaha
Nov 05, 2011 @ 13:38:48
Global Beauties does NOT predict. Unlike fans who try and match the actual finalists for the sake of their egos, GB displays its PERSONAL favorites… Something that fans are afraid to do.
Nov 05, 2011 @ 22:43:21
This is why I love GB. I remember I was loud and proud of being a fan of Adrienne Bende, Miss Hungary Universe 2006, and everyone thought I was crazy. She made the top 20 and I was just excited as she was!
Nov 05, 2011 @ 23:46:02
okay i am sorry
but now i request you admin if you are from GB
to have your PERSONAL favorites list of top 50
so that you should be 100% satisfied with final results of MW2011
and once again a warm welcome to asia next year
see ya untill then
byeeeeeeeeee
Nov 05, 2011 @ 11:46:29
what ever happens with fast track winners does not matters
but its good news that there will be top 30
many small countries who were not able to reach at top 15 (like latvia) will now be happy for ending as top 30
there will be a combination of dominating countries in pageantry world(like venezuela, usa) and the newly born pageantry powers (like africas)
Nov 05, 2011 @ 19:23:34
i think you are from India and you know that Miss India is not the clear favorite to win the crown that is why you are complaining about the old format..
Nov 05, 2011 @ 23:38:48
ya its true i am from india
india has already 5 miss worlds and we would try to gain and win more
but this dosent mean that we should be out of the beauty race
we have beauties and we are similar in mentality to venezuelan people
we want each of our girl to be atleast a semifinalist
and
this is also expected by every pageant fan across the world that american super power(venezuela) and asian super powers(india, phillipines) should be or will be in semifinals every year because super powers have something new and nice (though not every year but atleast most of the times)
more than that not only india many small countries like georgia, bonaire, mauritius, st. barthelemy, gibraltar, etc. will get a chance to atleast become a quaterfinalist(top 30) and bring pride to their countrymen which has not been yet achieved by their previous beauties like latvia, is waiting for its first semifinalist
best of luck to all that waiting nations
rock the stage this year and show you have and are something
and lastly a warm welcome to asia to all miss world fans next year
Nov 05, 2011 @ 11:28:04
my goodness….mongolia are very poor country….all people are mongoloid….abnormal!!!=)
Nov 05, 2011 @ 10:09:06
GOOD LUCK MISS TRINIDAD & TOBAGO LEE-ANN FORBES, MAY GOD GUIDE YOUR EVERY STEP @ THE MISS WORLD PAGEANT!!!
Nov 05, 2011 @ 09:15:47
Considering the RESULTS of the FAST TRACKS, I would consider the following as the potential finalists and semi-finalists: To compose the MAGIC Five – Philippines, Venezuela, Puerto Rico, Ukraine and Zimbabwe. Alternates (Top 7) would be Paraguay and Argentina. Completing the Top Fifteen would be Spain, Bolivia, Saint Barthelemy, Sweden, Kazakhstan, Italy, England and Panama. Sash factors could give India, Ireland or South Africa a spot in the semi-finals. Korea, US Virgin Islands and Kenya are most welcomed surprises.

I like that the fast-track winners don’t advance automatically to the semi-finals. I didn’t think Canada, Lena Ma, deserved a spot 2 years ago because she won talent. Her talent was dubious and although I love diversity, she wasn’t very beautiful and there were a lot more deserving contestants on that stage.
Nov 05, 2011 @ 23:48:26
i agree with you Gary
hope this doesnt happens this year
Nov 05, 2011 @ 07:41:30

Nov 05, 2011 @ 03:34:06
Sounds interesting but not as clear as I would have hoped, especially with regards to the points.
