Excitement levels have reached fever pitch for more than 120 young women from around the world as they embark on a journey that will culminate in the crowning of one young woman as the 67th Miss World on November 18th. Departure photos have started to surface as the girls began making their way to China where the contest will be hosted for the eighth time in its history. Miss Fiji, Nanise Rainima, was the first to arrive in Guangzhou where the girls will be gathering for the first few days of the competition before moving to other cities like Shenzen. The final days of competition will once again take place in Sanya on Hainan Island.

Miss World has promised to return bigger and better than ever before with a brand new format. On top of the regular fast-tracks, they have introduced the new Head to Head Challenges with the girls competing against each other in groups to earn a spot in the top 40. According to an earlier media release, the organisation explained that the contestants will be introducing themselves and answering questions during live online broadcasts. Fans will be asked to vote for their favorites and the contestant with the highest number of votes will be the winner of the challenge round and advance to the top 40. We are excited about this new element of competition and we do hope that the organisation has thought of ways to make the voting accessible for all their fans as well as ways to keep the process free and fair to ensure that the best and most deserving delegate wins the round.

While updates have been scarce at times in previous years when the contest has been held in China, the Miss World Organisation has announced that they intend to be more visible than ever before with more than 3,000 media partners this year. We are truly thrilled by this news and we are hoping to see news and photo updates which will be fast and frequent. More importantly, we do hope to see every girl in the contest receiving the same amount of attention from the media even though this is much easier said than done.

Last year, there was a significant improvement in the quality of the production of the final event. It felt fresher and more energetic than in previous years and this is definitely a huge step in the right direction for Miss World. Already, we are excited by the new venue for the finals, the promise of an amazing set and the return of Dances of the World. It has set high expectations for this year's event and we hope that the production team has kept all the best elements from last year's event and that they have plans in place to further enhance the quality and excitement of the show this year. If they continue making improvements in the way they did last year, they will definitely be on the right track.

Most of all, our sincere hope is that the girls have an amazing experience during their month long stay in China and that the best and most deserving contestant will end up being crowned Miss World 2017. Global Beauties would like to wish all the girls the best of luck!
