Special Coverage: the first days of Miss Portuguesa 2017

Miss Portuguesa (Portugal World) 2017 kicked off in Lisbon a few days ago, and ever since, the 24 candidates have been touring Portugal in a series of activities. With them, we have the current title holder and Miss Portuguesa 2016, Cristiana Viana, Miss Supranational Portugal 2016, Linda Cardoso, the 2nd princess from 2016, Diana Sofia, and Miss Brazil World 2008, Tamara Almeida.

This is the first time Global Beauties brings you full coverage of this important European national pageant.

After leaving Lisbon, the 24 stunners hailing from all over Portugal, headed to Elvas, a town built to defend the Portuguese frontier from the Spaniards (of course we are talking about centuries ago!). There the beauties were photographed in evening gowns, swimsuits, and face portraits. The official photos will soon be available and you will be able to vote for your favorite delegate.

From Elvas, the candidates traveled to the mountains, more especifically, to Covilhã. One their way to Covilhã, they stopped in Portalegre, where they visited Davines-Comfort Zone Portugal, the official cosmetics´ distribuitor of Miss Portuguesa. All candidates received very special gifts and truly enjoyed their visit.

After that, they were dilighted with a great lunch reception at H2otel Congress & Medical SPA, followed by a full afternoon of relaxation at the hotel´s pool and spa.

In Covilhã, the candidates are staying at the Puralã Wool Valley Hotel & Spa, one of the best in the region. In their first full day in the city, the Miss Portuguesa candidates got to pay a visit to the oldest wool manufacturer in Portugal, which first started to operate in 1620! They were amazed by the New Hand Lab project

They also visited Covilhã´s charming old town and learned about its history and architecture. Covilhã is a historical town which showcases lots of arts, music and good food. It is today one of Portugal´s most wanted weekends and holidays´ getaways!

Now they are rehearsing for tomorrow´s fashion show. They will wear costumes created by local fashion students. It will sure be very interesting!
