Maria Jose Lora, the reigning Miss Grand International, recently visited beautiful Indonesia with the President of the MGIO, Mr. Nawat Itsaragrisil. The pair touched down in Jakarta and were whisked off to a welcome dinner where they were reunited with 2016 title holder, Ariska Putri Pertiwi.

Apart from sightseeing and learn more about the local culture, media interviews and appearances on local television shows also kept the MGIO team busy. The Indonesian tour also came with a very exciting announcement, a brand new Miss Grand Indonesia beauty Pageant.

The Republic of Indonesia's Minister of Tourism, H.E. Dr. Ir. Arief Yahya, welcome Mr Itsaragrisil and Miss Grand International to the Ministry of Tourism, making her the first international title holder to be granted this honour. A press conference was held to celebrate the signing ceremony of the agreement between the MGIO and the new national director and license holder for Indonesia, Ms. Dikna Faradiba. A brand new Miss Grand Indonesia Beauty Pageant will take place later this year. The winner will represent her country at the 6th Miss Grand Interanational Beauty Pageant in Myanmar.

Before the pair departed, there was also an opportunity for fans of the pageant to gather to meet Mr. Itsargrisil and Lora. Indonesian fans are known for their enthusiasm and support of pageants, so this was a perfect opportunity for them to meet the woman who inherited the crown from their very own first Grand Slam title holder.

Lora will now travel to Peru for her official homecoming before jetting off to Venezuela and Colombia to find out who their 2018 representatives will be.
