Miss USA, Miss Teen USA to be Crowned in May in Louisiana

The Miss Universe Organization announced earlier today that they are combining the Miss USA and Miss Teen USA competitions for the first time ever. In May, 102 delegates will travel to Shreveport-Bossier, Louisiana, where they will be vying for the titles of Miss Teen USA 2018 and Miss USA 2018. “Blending the two schedules of the Miss Universe Organization’s premiere events for women across the country allows us to celebrate all of the mIss USA and Miss Teen USA state representatives together. We look forward to setting the stage for each event in Shreveport-Bossier, where the community has previously welcomed our staff, crew and contestants with its Southern hospitality," Miss Universe President, Paula Shugart,  remarked to reporters at a news conference

Prior to the event (on May 17 or 18), the 36th Miss Teen USA competition will also be crowned at the Hirsch Coliseum. Missouri's Sophia Dominquez-Heithoff will crown her successor as Miss Teen USA 2018. The event will be screened on the Reelz network. "The last time Miss Teen USA was here was in 2000. It was the year I was born, so it's a little fun," Sophia Dominguez-Heithoff remarked.
