Miss Grand Slam 2017: How Round 2 Will Work
The search for Global Beauties' Miss Grand Slam 2017 is heating. Round 1 is over and only 64 beauties remain in the running to become our 20th Miss Grand Slam. The beauties that represented their countries at Miss World (19), Miss Universe (17), Miss Grand International (12), Miss Supranational (8) and Miss International (8) all have a shot at becoming our Queen of Queens for the year that was 2017.
A draw generator was used to divide the 64 beauties into 8 groups of 8 contestants each. Four women from each group will survive this round. The winner of the fan vote of each group and the three women with the highest scores from our judges will move on to third round and top 32. Here are the 8 groups:
Global Beauties Co-Owner and founder Henrique Fontes from Brazil
Global Beauties Co-Owner Andre Sleigh from South Africa
The Times of Beauty founder, director and editor Edwin Toledo from Puerto Rico has been a pageant fan and blogger for more almost 15 years.
From India we have Dipak Shahi, the co-owner of The Great Pageant Community.
Former pageant co-ordinator, trainer and stylist who worked with beauties in Tahiti and New Caledonia for Miss World and Miss France, Heiarii Robson.
Stavros Nikolaou was born in Cyprus but he is currently a journalist, television presenter and model in Greece.
Author of Misdemeanours - Beauty Queen Scandals Sally-Ann Fawcett from the United Kingdom is also joining our panel.
Stephania Stegman was the first woman from Paraguay to win Miss Supranational in 2015 and she was also the first (and so far only) woman from this contest to take home our Miss Grand Slam title in 2015.
(Ed Dominguez, Atong Demach and Buhle Mbonambi will return for Round 3)
Our panel will be joined by a guest fan judge, selected from an online competition. The judges will be asked to choose their top 5 of each group and rank them from 1st to 5th place. Their top choice will be awarded 10 points, the 2nd place 8 points, third 6 points, fourth 4 points and 5th 2 points. The three ladies in each group with the highest number of points will join the winner of the fan vote in the third round of Miss Grand Slam 2017. (Should there be a tie, the co-owners of Global Beauties will break the tie.)
