GB Awards 2018: Miss Grand International wins Best Pageant Format Award

In a tough dispute with Miss Universe, it was Miss Grand International that took gold in the Best Pageant Format category. It shows that pageant experts and fans in general look for objectivity: in its final show, Miss Grand International has the Top 20 competing in swimwear, the Top 10 competing in peace speech and evening gowns, and a final question for the Top 5, right before the winner´s election. Simple, easy to understand, fun to watch. MGI won the Yulia for Best Pageant Format in 2018!

For Miss Universe (2nd) and Miss Supranational (3rd), objectivity also rules, with the difference that Miss Supranational has all its candidates on stage more than a couple of times before the Top 25 quarter-finalists are announced, which for some can be too tiring.

Miss World (4th), on the other hand, has complex rules which change every year. For those who enjoy a challenge and prefer more complexity, it works perfectly. It´s original and unique, trying to determine an identity for these days, which is not something negative. Miss International (3rd) remains too long and old-fashioned, in an urgent need for revamping.
