As usual, Mister International followed the Miss Universe system, including the continental quota. The winner, Trịnh Văn Bảo of Vietnam, is a 24-year-old model. Vietnam had already conquered the Grand Slam titles Mister Global and Manhunt International, being Mister International its 3rd Grand Slam triumph.
Days after the election of Mister International 2018, also following a Miss Universe resolution, Alan Sim, the president of MIO, announced that transgenders will be accepted in the competition from 2019 on. It´s certainly a good move when it comes to acceptance and modernization of beauty pageants. GB supports it!
Congratulations to the new Mister International!
GB comment: The winner was among GB´s Top 5 favorites and certainly deserved to win. Vietnam is becoming a powerhouse in male pageants.
