Miss Bolivia 2019: celebrating 40 years under the organization of Promociones Gloria
Bolivia is one of the few countries where a single organization holds the licenses for all Grand Slam pageants: Miss World, Miss Universe, Miss International, Miss Supranational and Miss Grand International. Perhaps it is so because of Promociones Gloria´s great work since 1979, when Ms. Gloria Limpias started organizing Bolivia´s national beauty pageant. It didn´t take long until she turned her business into a true Bolivian “beauty empire”, and yesterday, during the 2019 Miss Bolivia pageant, it was time to celebrate these 40 years of “glory under Gloria”.
During the live broadcast of the event by Red Uno, there were two crowning moments. After over 50 former Bolivian titleholders opened the event, the 22 candidates presented themselves in national costumes, swimsuits and evening gowns. Then the judges were asked to pick Miss World Bolivia, and results were:
Miss World Bolivia 2019: Iciar Diaz, Señorita Santa Cruz;
1st runner-up: Valentina Perez, Miss Chuquisaca (winner of Beauty With a Purpose Bolivia special award);
2nd runner-up: Fabiana Ayaviri, Miss Litoral;
3rd runner-up: Reachel Torrez, Señorita Cochabamba.
The new Miss World Bolivia is a popular singer in Bolivia who also enjoys dancing and practicing all kinds of sports. She speaks fluent English and Portuguese. Iciar is 22 years old and 1.71 m-tall.
After a television break, came the time to announce the Miss Universe Bolivia 2019 winner, as well as the other Grand Slam representatives for Bolivia. And they were:
Miss Universe Bolivia: Fabiana Hurtado, Miss Santa Cruz - 21 years old, 1.73 m-tall;
Miss International Bolivia: Valentina Pérez, Miss Chuquisaca;
Miss Grand Bolivia: Carolina Rojas, Señorita Cochabamba - 19 years old, 1.76 m-tall;
Miss Supranational Bolivia, Maria Elena Antelo, who had been previously selected, was also officially crowned and presented during the live telecast.
The runner-ups were Miss Tarija, Angelica Romero (1st runner-up), Srta Litoral, Fernanda Castedo (2nd runner-up), Srta Pando, Neyda Chuquimia (3rd runner-up), Miss Illimani, Madahi Colque Durán (4th runner-up), and Srta Tarija, Kamile Crespo (5th runner-up).
Julia Morley, president of Miss World, Paula Shugart, CEO of Miss Universe, Catriona Gray, Miss Universe 2018, as well as several national directors (Osmel Souza from Venezuela, Lupita Jones from Mexico, Raimundo Angulo, Colombia, Henrique Fontes, Brazil, Keno Manzur, Chile, Cesar Anel Rodriguez, Panama, among others), sent congratulatory messages to Gloria as part of the celebration.
