66th Miss Universe: National Costume Show

The traditional National Costume Show of the Miss Universe competition took place on Saturday, November 18th, with a different setting:  It was not on the contest's main stage, and it was not broadcast live as it was customary during the past years.

The event took place at the mezzanine of the Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino with an audience eagerly rooting for their favorite contestants.  In this same stage, the Preliminary Show will take place next Monday.

The 92 competitors displayed a lot of creativity and good taste when showcasing their national costumes.  Some of the event's most impressive costumes included Myanmar (a sure bet for winner, two years in a row), Indonesia, Thailand, Russia, Canada, Japan and Venezuela.

With this stage of the competition now over, the contestants will now focus on the important part of the selection: Interviews, Figure and Evening Gowns.
