MGI 2019 Review: Estonia - Netherlands

We continue our special review for the 2019 MGI candidates, with Group 2. We start it with Miss Grand Estonia…

ESTONIA - Elisse Randmma

Estonia (1).jpg

The very cute Elisse looks like she´s having a great time in Venezuela! One of the youngest candidates around, we are sure Estonians are proud of her performance in Caracas.

FRANCE - Cassandra Pereira DeSousa

France (1).jpg

Cassandra, who hails from the French department of Eure-et-Loir, has a beautiful face, but whenever on stage, we feel her a bit off.

GERMANY - Lalaine Desiree Quintana Mahler

Germany (1).jpg

What a stunning face Miss Grand Germany has! Nonetheless, after her swimsuit presentation, we believe it will be a considerable challenge for Lalaine to cross the line to the Top 20. MGI has its standards…

GUADELOUPE - Nahémy Ceriac

Guadeloupe (1).jpg

Nahémy has a stunning face, shines on stage and she´s very popular among Venezuelan fans! Her gown choice might not have been the best, but yet, we believe Guadeloupe deserves a spot in the Top 20! Will the judges agree with us?

GUATEMALA - Dannia Sucely Guevara

Guatemala (1).jpg

Dannia is a blast! She´s fun to be around, has a very sweet personality, a great body and lots of stage presence. It will be no surprise to see her in the Top 20!

HAITI - Josée Isabelle Riché

Haiti (1).jpg

Charming Miss Grand Haiti seems like she´s enjoying her time in Venezuela.

INDIA - Shivani Jadhav

India (1).jpg

In our humble opinion, Shivani has the most beautiful face of the competition. This stunning Indian young woman is reserved, but always friendly and quite smart (as usual, when it comes to Indian representatives!). We believe she will easily land in the Top 20 and then fight to advance to the Top 10. With a possible great peace speech, we know anything can happen next!

INDONESIA - Sarlin Delee Jones

Indonesia (1).jpg

Let us put it this way: if Sarlin´s gorgeous face could be combined with last year´s candidate body and extraordinary spark and preparation, Indonesia would have a perfect 10 delegate! But we know this can´t be done, which means that based on her Preliminary Competition performance, which was correct, but not outstanding, Miss Grand Indonesia shall be in the Top 20, but going further than that will depend on her putting more energy on her walk and moves.

IRELAND - Mint Sudawan Kumdee

Ireland (1).jpg

We confess that based on her pre-pageant photos, we never thought Miss Grand Ireland, a half-Thai beauty from Dublin, would make waves in Venezuela. But wrong we were! She did her homework, learned some Spanish words and expressions (especially her already famous “Hola chamo/chama!”, which means “Hello, dude!”), and gained the hearts of the Venezuelans, being the 2nd most applauded candidate among all 60, after, of course, Miss Grand Venezuela! If she breaks the odds and lands in the Top 20, we are sure the Poliedro will explode! Can it happen?

ITALY - Mirea Sorrentino

Italy (1).jpg

Like Miss Grand France, Miss Grand Italy is quite pretty but lacked preparation to face such strong competition. She did not stand out as much as she could.

bonequinhos 3.jpg

JAPAN - Adeline Minatoya

Japan (1).jpg

We know that in 2018 Japan had such an amazing candidate who nearly captured the crown (she was the 4th runner-up), so, naturally, there´s a lot of pressure on Adeline´s shoulders now. Whatever happens, we believe she should be proud of what she did! Her national costume presentation was, in our opinion, the best, and her evening gown was very beautiful and most important, ORIGINAL. She totally deserves to be in the Top 20 and we think it will happen.

bonequinhos 5.jpg

LATVIA - Jekaterīna Aleksejeva

Latvia (1).jpg

Jekaterīna was very close to beating Miss Grand Macedonia (now North Macedonia)´s performance in 2015, with her over-the-top moves on the ramp. Maybe she´s been trying too hard and should tone down a bit…

bonequinhos 3.jpg

LEBANON - Stephanie Dash Karam Tovar

Lebanon (1).jpg

Lebanon was a pre-pageant favorite, but in Venezuela, although she did most things right, Stephanie did not stand out as we expected. She´s good, but in such a strong and competitive group, good may not be enough.

bonequinhos 3.jpg

MACAU - Loi Chi «Yammie» Ian

Macau (1).jpg

We´ve learned that getting to Venezuela and fulfilling her dream, wasn´t easy. With no support from her national pageant organizers, who claimed it wasn´t safe for her to travel to Venezuela, Loi Chi had to finance everything to be here, including her air ticket and pageant license! A true fighter, super cute Miss Grand Macau delivered it well and should be very proud of herself: whatever the outcome, she´s a winner already!

bonequinhos 4.jpg

MALAYSIA - Mel Dequanne Abar

Malaysia (1).jpg

Malaysia had a fierce and regular road in Miss Grand International 2019! With a stunning face and great figure, the only “but” was her OTP gown presentation. She doesn´t need to move around so much to get attention, being the strong delegate that she is. We trust she can go far in the competition, and in case she wins, Mel will be Malaysia´s first-ever Grand Slam winner. Can you picture how big it would be??

bonequinhos 5.jpg

MAURITIUS - Shanone Savatheama

Mauritius (1).jpg

Miss Grand Mauritius never appeared as a favorite, however, she did everything correctly, looking very elegant and poised on stage.

bonequinhos 3.jpg

MEXICO - María Malo

Mexico (1).jpg

María started the competition as a heavy favorite for the title. For some, she remains one. For others, at times she looks more like a model than as a beauty queen who´s really into winning this. We find it very hard to predict how far she will go in the competition! Reaching the Top 5, or stopping in the Top 20, are both real possibilities. Her beauty and fair skin, so popular in Asian countries, in addition to her impressive height, are assets that could take her far. One thing is for sure: she deserves to make the first cut, at least!

bonequinhos 5.jpg

MYANMAR - Hmwe Thet Lwin

Myanmar (1).jpg

Exotic Miss Grand Myanmar has shown so much power when competing in the Best in Swimsuit competition, last week! The same cannot be said for yesterday´s performance, at the preliminary competition, when she lacked energy. Again: when the group of candidates is so strong, one mistake can be fatal…

bonequinhos 3.jpg

NEPAL - Nisha Pathak

Nepal (1).jpg

Nisha has a lovely personality and is very smart.

bonequinhos 3.jpg

NETHERLAND - Margaretha Emma de Jong

Netherlands (1).jpg

This Cameron Diaz look-alike has delivered very secure and fierce performances on stage! Margaretha makes it clear that she´s not in Venezuela to try its famous arepas only. Let´s see if the judges noticed her as we did!
