All about Miss Grand International 2019

It´s now 100% confirmed: Venezuela will host Miss Grand International 2019.

In a press conference recently held in Caracas, Mr Nawat Itsaragrisil, president of MGI Organization, accompanied by the current Miss Grand International, Clara Sosa of Paraguay, and local organizers, spoke about this year´s event. Here are some highlights:

  • Candidates from around the globe will start arriving in Caracas on October 8th;

  • The final show will take place on October 25th, at the legendary Poliedro de Caracas, where the Miss Venezuela beauty pageant used to take place;

  • The preliminary event will happen on October 23rd;

  • Tickets will be available for free for Venezuelans;

  • The pageant production will be mostly financed by MGI Organization. The idea is to support and promote Venezuela during the difficult times it is currently facing;

  • The candidates will remain in Caracas throughout the whole pageant, taking part in a series of activities and preliminary events;

  • Private security has been hired to protect the candidates, staff and the international press journalists, during the days of the event;

  • The official hotel for the pageant will be the Intercontinental Hotel, in Caracas.

  • Although Venezuela is the most successful country in pageant history, this will be the first time it will host a Grand Slam international beauty competition.

Miss Grand International 2019 will be crowned at the legendary Poliedro de Caracas, where so many editions of the Miss Venezuela pageants took place in the past.

Miss Grand Venezuela 2019, the host candidate for 2019, is Lourdes Valentina Figuera Morales, 18, from Puerto La Cruz, state of Anzoategui. She was also present at the conference, with former Miss Grand Venezuela titleholders.

National directors from countries such as England, New Zealand, Colombia, Wales and Scotland have made it official that they will not send representatives to MGI 2019 due to the current situation of instability in the country. Mr. Itsaragrisil made it clear that he expects all national organizations to support Venezuela in 2019.

Miss Grand International 2019 being held in Venezuela has divided fans´ opinions around the world. In a recent GB poll, 54% of our followers said they like the idea. 46% believe it is not a good idea.
