In the 12 Months of Beauty SS2020 online pageant, Miss Grand Netherlands 2020 and Miss Supranational Netherlands 2020 will be chosen. The pageant organizers had an online preliminary competition, which was private, as they usually do. The girls had an interview of 20-30 minutes online, each separately with jury members, which consists of national directors Robin and Stefan Hoven, Lieuw Choy, and Talisa Wolters (Miss Grand Netherlands 2013), who is also part of the 12 Months of Beauty team.

The girls had to send in a dance video and a sports video (How they kept fit during corona lockdown) and 2 pictures in swimwear. The videos and pictures were judged by the main jury and some guest judges. The dance video was also judged by Glenda Nijland, from Stage 1, the event´s choreographer and catwalk coach. The sports video and the swimwear pictures were also judged by their personal trainer Brian Blijd, from Body2Last.

These preliminary rounds allowed them to short-list the candidates to 12 semifinalists, who get workshops and challenges from their coaches and team members. The 12 girls must film or photograph the results of the challenges and these will be published. The challenges are also accompanied by interviews with former queens. Robin and Stefan plan to go on tour to meet all the 12 girls personally if the lockdown rules will be less strict.

The points gathered with these challenges will allow them to arrive at 4-6 finalists. The finalists will get one-on-one training from personal trainer Brian, and hopefully a photoshoot. They will also get 2 large assignments.

From there, the 2 winners will be presented, hopefully in a small event (for less than 30 guests). These 2 winners will represent the Netherlands at the next Miss Grand International and the next Miss Supranational Grand Slam competitions.

The 12 semifinalists are: Esmee Cornet, 26, from Hengelo, is a model and dancer.
