Miss Brasil Mundo (Miss World Brazil) to be elected at the Iloa Resort, in Alagoas

The Brazilian representative for Miss World 2020 will be elected on October 29th, at the magnificent Iloa Resort, in the city of Barra do São Miguel, state of Alagoas. 40 candidates from all over Brazil will head to the country´s northeast region hoping to be the new Miss Mundo Brasil, or Miss Brazil World.

The contest´s organizers have recently told the local national press that the event will follow the rules which were recently issued by the government´s Department of Tourism. The final show will happen at an outdoor space, with most runway competitions being pre-recorded. The idea is to avoid the traditional change of cloth and keep social distance among the delegates.

The 40 contenders will also be wearing masks at all times, except for the moments when they are on stage or being photographed/filmed.

An interesting innovation in this year´s Brazilian contest is that an international panel of judges, from different countries and all continents, will help to select the winner from their home countries. “The pandemic showed us that we can do a lot with technology and social media to bring people closer together. We will select Miss World experts from other countries to be judges this year. They will be announced days before the contest”, said the CNB organizers.

Miss World Brazil and Americas, Elís Miele, said she´s excited about going to Alagoas to crown her successor: “I have never been to Alagoas, where some of the most stunning beaches in Brazil are located. These are difficult times, but we must move on with caution, and I hope the winner is able to bring home the blue crown”.
