The Miss England Virtual semi-final contest takes place next Friday, 31st July 2020, 7 pm London time, as a Livestream vote and all 35 contestants from all over England are connecting via zoom. This is the first time the Miss England contests have held their Semi-Final contest virtually, due to the Coronavirus pandemic.

Contestants have submitted their own entries via video hoping to win a place in the next National Miss England Final. All 35 semi-finalists have also been preparing for several rounds in the contest, including the Ethical Fashion Eco Round where they are encouraged to show off their creative skills and ethical ethos, by creating a recycled outfit with the theme #wearitgreen, submitting pictures of themselves with no makeup to promote natural beauty, and helping raise awareness and funds for Beauty with a Purpose the Fundraising round.

There is also a public vote where you vote once you book the Livestream. These rounds will fast track winners of each through to the next national final. The reigning Miss England NHS Dr. Bhasha Mukherjee will be interviewed on the live stream about her year as she will be celebrating her 1 year anniversary of being Miss England on 1 st August. Bhasha will be connecting via zoom as she will be busy working at her hospital on the day of the semi-final.

Organizer Angie Beasley said: “When lockdown began we had to change all of our plans, like many other events. Various area heats for Miss England had to be re-scheduled or held virtually. It was either that or postpone altogether until next year. I didn’t want to let the contestants down as they had already started fundraising and were looking forward to the contest! So far going virtual has proved successful but I do hope to be able to hold a live National final either later this year or early 2021. Right now we are just selecting our finalists.”

You can see all contestants HERE and vote for your favorite when you book the Livestream.
