Miss Supranational Brazil and Mister Brazil CNB to be elected on May 6th and 7th, respectively

Miss Supranational Brazil and Mister Brazil CNB 2022 elections to take place in Balneário Camboriú (SC), in May

Two of the main beauty contests in the country will take place in the first week of May in Balneário Camboriú (SC), officially opening the beauty season in Brazil: Miss Supranational Brazil will be elected on the 6th, while Mister Brazil CNB, on the 7th of May.

The new Miss Supranational Brazil will try to be the first Brazilian representative to reach the top 5 of Miss Supranational

Deise Benício in Poland: she received the Miss Supranational Americas title.

Of the 5 Grand Slam contests (Miss World, Miss Universe, Miss Grand International, Miss International, and Miss Supranational), Miss Supranational is the only one that has never had a Brazilian woman in the top 5 since it was created, back in 2009. The best Brazilian result was sixth place, conquered by Karine Osório, in 2009, and by Bárbara Reis, in 2018. The winner of the national contest will have the difficult mission of breaking this pattern.

Twenty-seven representatives from states and regions from all over Brazil will compete for the title of Miss Supranational Brazil 2022. The candidates will stay at the Hotel Sibara @hotelsibara, in Balneário Camboriú, where the final event will also take place. They arrive in the coastal city of Santa Catarina on the 3rd of May, where before the final, they participate in a series of preliminary events, in addition to interviews, photos, and recordings.

In this year's group of candidates, there are lawyers, doctors, architects, dentists, a figure skater, an actress, many university students, digital influencers, in addition to the first transgender woman to compete for the title of Miss Supranational Brazil.

The winner will succeed Deise Benício, a model and Law graduate from the state of Rio Grande do Norte, who at Miss Supranational 2021 won the title of Miss Supranational Americas and placed among the quarter-finalists (13th place). The new Miss Supranational Brazil will compete for the title of Miss Supranational 2022, one of the 5 most prestigious beauty titles on the planet (Grand Slam), on July 15, in the city of Nowy Sacz, Maloposka, Poland. She will also be the first to receive the Brazilian contest's new crown, an exclusive piece of jewelry created by jewelry designer Tiago Seixas.

The Miss Supranational Brazil final will take place on May 6, 8 PM local time, at the Hotel Sibara Convention Center. Juliano Crema will be the host. Tickets are on sale at Sympla. The contest will be live streamed on TV Concurso Nacional de Beleza, on YouTube, and also on Miss Supranational's Facebook page.

Mister Brazil CNB 2022 will visit Dubai and compete for the title of Mister Supranational, in Poland

William Gama, Mister Brazil CNB 2020/21.

Forty-two candidates from all over Brazil will compete for the title of Mister Brazil CNB 2022 on May 7, at the Hotel Sibara, in Balneário Camboriú. A curiosity about this year's contest is that this will be the last chance for married men and/or fathers to compete for the title of most handsome man in Brazil: from 2023 on, the international contest (Mister Supranational) will equal the rules to the women's competition, accepting only single, non-divorced men who are not fathers. “Until the rules change for women too, we think it's fair that they are the same for both genders,” explained Andre Sleigh, creative director of the Miss and Mister Supranational pageants.

This year's candidates include engineers, doctors, aspiring actors, personal trainers, a classical ballet dancer, and even a personality impersonator. In addition to competing for the title of Mister Supranational 2022, on July 16 in Nowa Saczy, Poland, the winner will win a trip to Dubai, United Arab Emirates, courtesy of UFashion @ufashionl. “More than a visit to Dubai, it might be a trip with professional opportunities. We are looking for a winner with that star quality”, explained Carolina Cuartas, co-director of UFashion. A panel of judges with many international presences will make the choice, including entertainment industry personalities from the USA, England, the Philippines, Venezuela, and Argentina. Their names are being kept under lock and key.

The title of Mister Brazil CNB has already been won by great media and fashion personalities in Brazil, such as Lucas Gil (2007), Jonas Sulzbach (2010), Lucas Malvacini (2011), and Anderson Tomazini (2016). The current titleholder, William Gama from Amazonas, did not compete for the title of Mister Supranational 2021 for personal reasons, having been replaced by his runner-up, João Henrique Helmes. Despite passing the Mister Brasil CNB sash and title to his successor on the 7th, Gama is expected to compete internationally still in 2022.

If the Brazilian women are still struggling to reach the top 5 of Miss Supranational, at Mister Supranational the situation is quite different: in the first five editions of the contest held in Poland, Brazil almost always hit the crossbar: there was one first-up (Ítalo Cerqueira, in 2019), two third places (Samuel Costa in 2018 and Matheus Song in 2017), in addition to a fourth-place (Bruno Vanin, in 2016). Brazil failed to make it to the quarter-finals only in 2021.

Lorena Rodrigues and Deise Benício to host the election of Mister Brazil CNB 2022, on May 7th.

The new Mister Brazil CNB will be an ambassador for the fight against leprosy in Brazil. The National Beauty Contest, the event that elects Mister Brazil CNB, will take place at 8 pm (Brasília´s time) on Saturday, May 7, at Hotel Sibara, in Balneário Camboriú (SC). Lorena Rodrigues, Miss Grand Brazil 2021, and Deise Benício, Miss Supranational Brazil 2021, will be the hosts. Tickets are being sold at Sympla. The contest will be streamed on TV Concurso Nacional de Beleza, on YouTube, and on Mister Supranational´s Facebook page.
