Once again the city of Nowy Sacz, located in Molopolska, Poland, will host the finals of Miss Supranational. The 13th edition of the Poland-based international Grand Slam pageant will count 70 candidates, a reasonable post-coronavirus pandemic number (last year 58 young women competed for this title). Representatives from three countries will debut : Cambodia, Kyrgyzstan, and Lesotho. Because of the ongoing war in Ukraine, Russia was banned from the competition. Turkey is now Türkiye, the new English denomination for the transcontinental country.

“During this Festival of Beauty, the candidates will enjoy a variety of activities, which shall be appreciated by a global audience of over 300 million people”, said Gerhard Parzutka von Lipinski, president of Miss and Mister Supranational. “I would like to extend my gratitude to the President of the City of Nowy Saczy, Ludomir Handzel, the city officials, and the Marshal of Malopolska, Witold Kozłowski for inviting us to showcase the beauty of this special region in the summer. We are sure that our contestants will be enthusiastic ambassadors for Nowy Sacz and Malopolska”, he believes.

The final show will be broadcasted live on July 15th from the Strzelecki Park Amphitheater. Polsat, the pageant co-producer and official broadcaster, Zoom TV India, Metro TV Indonesia, CNN Philippines, The Filipino Channel, NET 2 TV Ghana, Silverbird TV Nigeria, ATV Suriname, and Globovisión Venezuela, are expected to show the spectacle live. Dozens of other television stations will broadcast it later in over 100 countries and territories. Miss Supranational 2022 will also be live-streamed on Miss Supranational´s Facebook page and YouTube channel.

The 13th Miss Supranational will win a US$ 35000 cash prize and will have the opportunity to travel to several countries to attend national pageants and to promote “From the Ground Up”, Miss Supranational´s community service initiative. “We want the contestants to develop their own passion and leadership skills, showing that they believe in what they are doing”, explains Andre Sleigh, Miss Supranational´s creative director and the program´s creator.

From the Ground Up: Chane Rabi´s reign has been marked by her extensive social work in Namibia and supporting charities in the countries she visited as Miss Supranational.

Chani Rabe, Miss Supranational 2021, took “From the Ground Up” seriously. The Namibian beauty queen says some of her biggest and most memorable achievements during her reign were finding her true passion for teaching underprivileged young people sewing skills. She also managed to open a sewing school, 'The Mending Project' at Hope Village in Windhoek, as well as the 'Sijwa Project' under the Junior Sewing School at African Monarch Lodges. Gerhard Parzutka von Lipinski and Andre Sleigh visited Rabe´s projects and contributed to it financially.

“The aim of my community initiative is to teach children to be emotionally and intellectually independent through art and different talents,” Miss Supranational 2021 explains. She has also provided unemployed women with a craft they can harness, empowering them to unleash their potential.

Miss Supranational 2021 has traveled to over a dozen countries during her year of reign, more than any other Grand Slam pageant winner. Recently, she placed 2nd in GB´s Miss Grand Slam, only behind Miss World, Karolina Bielawska of Poland. As she is about to crown her successor, Rabe hopes to have helped to put her country on the world map in the most positive way, having promoted Namibia as a tourist destination in all places she visited in the last 12 months.

Who will be Miss Supranational 2022?

Colombia, South Africa, and Ukraine: is one of them the new Miss Supranational?

It´s certainly too early to call a winner for Miss Supranational 2022, however, some delegates have landed in Poland with high expectations from fans around the globe. Some believe that the title could remain in the African continent but in South Africa this time. The current Miss South Africa winner, Lalela Mswane, placed 3rd when competing in Miss Universe last December. Bright, beautiful, and engaged in social causes, Mswane is considered by many pageant observers the “one to beat” in Poland. If she wins, the South African titleholder will become the first black woman crowned Miss Supranational.

Keep an eye on Miss Ukraine, 28-year-old Diana Mironenko, a children´s author and sustainability guru who is the founder of a non-profit organization that helps Ukrainian refugees in Poland. Beautiful and active in the Russia-Ukraine conflict, Mironenko is another front-runner for the crown.

The representative of Colombia, Valentina Espinosa, is the winner of the most traditional beauty pageant in her country: CNB (Concurso Nacional de Belleza, or National Beauty Pageant). CNB used to send its winner to Miss Universe. The 24-year-old Cartagena journalist is expected to fight for what would be the first Miss Supranational title for her country.

Other Latinas expected to shine bright are Mexico, Regina González, with one of the most beautiful faces in the competition (her participation marks the return of the Miss Mexico Organization to the pageant after 3 editions, raising the bar for Mexico in Miss Supranational), and Venezuela, Ismelys Velásquez, who currently holds two international beauty titles: International Queen of Coffee and Miss Mesoamerica International.

The first black woman to represent Spain in a Grand Slam pageant, Ana Karła Ramirez has been getting great reviews and is among the strongest European delegates this year, next to France, Valentine Le Corre, Poland, Agata Wdowiak, Czech Republic, Kristýna Malířová, and of course, Ukraine´s Diana Mironenko.

Asia´s hottest bet for the crown is Vietnam Nguyễn Huỳnh Kim Duyên, a popular model and top 16 quarter-finalist in Miss Universe 2021. Indonesia´s Adinda Cresheilla, and India´s Ritika Khatnani, are hot Asian bets as well.

A back-to-back title for Namibia is not out of question, after all, Dr. Julita Kitwe is the perfect combination of beauty and brains. A favorite to win the Miss Türkiye 2021 title, Şira Sahilli brings to Poland the most beautiful green eyes in the competition and could also be the winner.

Dominican Republic, Emely Ruiz, is the Caribbean stunner expected to go further in this year´s pageant.

And of course, there´s a handful of competitors just waiting to surprise us all and take the world by storm. After all, the games have just started!
