Miss Universe Brazil 2022 is Mia Mamede, from Espírito Santo

Mia Mamede, the new Miss Universe Brazil, in the moment she was crowned by Teresa Santos, her predecessor.

Mia Mamede, 26, from the city of Vitória, Espírito Santo state, edged out other 4 finalists to become Miss Universe Brazil 2022. She will represent Brazil in the 70th edition of Miss Universe, later this year. Maria Eugênia Mamede was raised traveling the world, thanks to her father´s work. She has lived in 6 countries (Bahrein, China, United Arab Emirates, Spain, France, and the United States), and visited a total of 39 nations. The new Brazilian beauty queen speaks English, Portuguese, Spanish, French, and Chinese.

Graduated in Audiovisual Journalism and Socio-Economics from New York University, she has specializations in TV and Film and in Acting and Presentation from the New York Film Academy. It was as an actress that she acted in several short films, including in China, and was also in original Broadway musicals at the invitation of a professor. She´s engaged in a series of social projects.

Mia was coached by the Venezuelan pageant guru Alexander Gonzalez.

For the first time in 68 years, the state of Espírito Santo has a Miss Universe Brazil winner. Two representatives of the same state have won the Miss World Brazil title: Anuska Prado in 1996 (3rd place in Miss World), and Elís Miele Coelho in 2019 (Top 5 in Miss World).

The event held in São Paulo was streamed live on the internet (WATCH it HERE). The 1st runner-up was Rebeca Portilho, Miss Universe Amazonas. The 2nd runner-up was Isadora Murta, from Minas Gerais, while Luano Lobo, Miss Universe Ceará, and Alina Furtado, Miss Universe Rio Grande do Sul, placed 4th and 5th, respectively.

Cris Barth hosted the event produced by Marthina Brandt, Brazil´s new national director of Miss Universe.
