Florida's Clarissa Bowers (R) won the crown of America's Miss World during a spectacular event held at the Linda Chapin Theatre in Orlando, with the participation of 27 contestants and the presence of the reigning Miss World Stephanie Del Valle.

The runner-ups were Maureen Montagne, Chance Cessna, Emanii Davis and Alessandra Curtis, respectively.

Bowers is currently a student of Neuroscience at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, and aspires to become a reconstructive surgeon in order to help wounded and scarre soldiers.  She will now represent the United States during the 67th Miss World finals in Singapore and China this October-November.

In the same event, Grace Grainger (L) was crowned as the very first Miss Teen World America.

It was the first edition of America's Miss World, which is under the direction of former Miss United States Elizabeth Safrit.
