In its 5th edition and showing consistency and improvement in terms of production and pre-final activities, Mister Global arrives in its 5th edition with a quite competitive batch. Among those who have already made it to Thailand to compete, in addition to expected late arrivals, representatives from nearly 40 nations will fight to succeed Pedro Gicca of Brazil.

Germany, for instance, participated in Mister Supranational 2017, and though he did not place, he was always a favorite among pageant fans. With experience and more maturity, it´s clear that he could do better this time around. In a similar situation is Pakistan, Raffay khan.

Also coming from a Mister Supranational experience and very strong as well, are the candidates from Afghanistan, Hamid Noor (Top 20 in 2017), and Denmark, Marcus Rosenberg (Top 10 in 2016). Mister Denmark is the son of Pia Larsen, Miss Denmark and 1st runner-up in Miss World 1986. These are two very handsome young men with great personalities.

Poland, Jakub Kucner, comes from one of the strongest male national pageant systems: Mister Polski. With lots of followers on its social media and some remarkable social work done in the Gambia, he is certainly a lad to keep an eye on.

Latin Americans usually compete strongly, and this year is no exception. Brazil, Junior Garcia, has one of the best bodies in the competition and will do its very best to attempt a back-to-back victory for his country. Venezuela, Christian Nunes, is the complete package and could also easily pull it. Then there´s Mexico, Antonio Merchant, one of the most talked about candidates on the internet. USA, Dario Duque, seems to be a tough competitor as well.

Switzerland, Betim Morina, has one of the most beautiful faces in the competition, while Spain, competing with Fabian Perez, as usual, is taking the competition very seriously, Czech Republic, Michal Žůrek, is expected to do good, going for his country´s 2nd victory. The Netherlands, Roel van der Bas, looks cool and well groomed.

South Africa has been gaining ground in male beauty contests, having placed 2nd in last year´s edition of Mister Global. Now it´s back with Dwayne Geldenhuis, another front-runner, who could take it all.

The candidates from Asia and the Pacific, where men´s competitions are most popular, are not joking around. In addition to Afghanistan, previously mentioned on this article, Hong Kong, Vincent Lau, Korea, Kang Doo hyung, Philippines, Kristian Nanadiego Sarmiento, and Thailand, Staporn Moollisan, might top the Asian group of favorites right now, but let´s not lose sight of Cambodia, Dy Vanda, Guam, Adam Suharto, and newcomer Tibet, Nyima.

Please remember that these are first impressions, and much could still change as the competition develops. Right now the candidates are having fun in one of the most exciting cities in the world: Bangkok, Thailand!
