Tara Jensen, originally the 1st runner-up, will step in and take over the title as Miss Denmark 2018 and compete in Miss World 2018, in Sanya, China, on December 8th.

"It came both as a shock and huge disappointment. I would like to stress that her resignation is not based on a conflict and I hope that the personal causes she has will be resolved. I still think Louise is an amazing young woman with a wonderful personality, talent and great potential, and I wish her only the best”, wrote the Danish Miss World national director on Miss Denmark´s Facebook page.

Lents concluded: “What makes me happy is that Tara Jensen takes over the title, which she will carry with pride and great ambition. Tara Burns is 1000% dedicaded and can´t wait to get to China. Throughout the competition she has shown great diligence, humility and cooperation”.

She also mentioned that the day before the grand finale, Tara fell down the stairs during rehearsals and got badly injured with a sprained foot. She was completely devastated by the situation, but chose anyway to fight the pain and face the competition, ending 2nd. Now she is Miss Denmark 2018 and will compete in Miss World.

We wish both ladies much success in the future!

GB comment: Nobody likes when something like this happens, and we feel for the organizers, who put a lot of effort to make things happen the best possible way. Perhaps the original winner should be clear about what she means by “personal reasons”, the people of Denmark deserves to understand what really happened. The new Miss Denmark is also lovely and we wish her the best of luck!
