Miss World Brazil 2022

The election of the 62nd Miss World Brazil (Miss Brasil Mundo) happened last Thursday, August 4th, at the CAESB theater, in Águas Claras, Distrito Federal. In front of a packed house, Letícia Frota, 19, a student of psychology who recently spent a season in Canada studying English, became the first woman from the state of Amazonas to be crowned Miss World Brazil.

She was crowned by Caroline Teixeira, Miss World Brazil, and a quarter-finalist in Miss World 2021.

The 1st runner-up was Gabriela Araujo, from Espírito Santo, followed by Ana Manginelli, Miss World São Paulo, in 3rd place, Isabella Gregorutti, Miss Recôncavo Baiano, in 4th place, and Thuany Cristine, from Rio Grande do Norte, in 5th place.

Dany Mally, from Maranhão, won the Beauty With a Purpose award with her impressive inclusion work with her state´s female inmates. She made it to the top 8. (Learn more about her project here).

The show was hosted by Lorena Rodrigues and Juliano Crema. It was the first national pageant to be live-streamed by the Miss World channel on YouTube. It was also on Brazilian television in a few states, like Bahia, Paraíba, Goiás and Distrito Federal.

Letícia is the 62nd Miss World Brazil and will represent her country in the 71st edition of Miss World. She has also become an ambassador of the fight against Hansen´s disease (leprosy) in Brazil.
