SAN JUAN, PR – The Miss World organization is set to begin filming promotional footage for its upcoming Miss World 2021 and its 70 th anniversary pageant scheduled for December 16 in Puerto Rico.

Part of the talent and marketing entourage here on the island is current Miss World 2019 Toni-Anne Singh of Jamaica, Miss World 2018 Vanessa Ponce of Mexico and Miss World 2016 Stephanie Del Valle of Puerto Rico.

“We are ready and eager to start filming some promo reels for this grand event that will help further promote Puerto Rico as a premier tourism destination before the eyes of the entire world,” said Julia Morley, CEO of Miss World Ltd. of London during a press conference at the Atrium of the Choliseo.

The final night of Miss World 2021 is expected to be memorable and entertaining and Puerto Rican event and talent promoter Francisco “Paco” Lopez has been hired to help produce it.

“We are excited to rely on Paco’s experience and talent. He is one of the most prominent and respected people in the industry,” said Del Valle, that through her nonprofit foundation Reignite Puerto Rico is assisting to organize the pageant. “There is no doubt whatsoever that Paco will work his magic alongside the Miss World organization to produce a modern, captivating and entertaining event.”

Lopez is honored and delighted to be part of this project.

“Our team is ready to demonstrate to the millions of pageant followers all the wonders that Puerto Rico has to offer like its rich culture, gastronomy, beautiful landscapes, beaches and most importantly the warmth and friendliness of the people,” said Lopez. “It’s time to show the world what we are capable of doing.”

With that being said, the Miss World 2021 pageant has been moved to a larger venue – the Puerto Rico Coliseum Jose Miguel Agrelot also known as the Choliseo and a new TV station, TeleOnce Puerto Rico (Channel 11) has been chosen to air live the three-hour event.

Originally, the newly inaugurated Coca-Cola Music Hall in San Juan was announced as the event venue, however due to an overwhelming volume of interest shown by international pageant fans to buy tickets, a larger more spacious location was needed.

Furthermore, the Choliseo is an ideal venue in case the Miss World organization needs to consider a limited audience and social distancing due to COVID-19 safety precautions.

Upon arrival, all contestants will be quarantined and frequent testing will be done leading up to the final event along with mask use and social distancing.

Also, an agreement was signed with TeleOnce to become the official channel in Puerto Rico to broadcast live the Miss World 2021 Final. As part of the agreement, TeleOnce will air several special programs leading up to the pageant’s final night.

“We are happy and proud of the partnership between TeleOnce and the Miss World organization.

It’s an honor to be the official channel of this pageant due to its trajectory and transcendence, said Lenard Liberman, president of TeleOnce. “There are lots of plans in agenda for the upcoming months with this world-class project. We will be creating new concepts for the enjoyment of our audience not only through television but social media platforms too. We want the public to get to know the candidates of each country and that we achieve a successful interaction.”

Ticket sale for Miss World 2021 will soon be announced.
